I've seen so many threads now regarding emergency keys and debates about where best to keep them.
Now here is a new emergency key thread.
This emergency key thread is all about how a sub retains ultimate control over whether he is locked or not.

If nothing else, having an emergency key serves as a mental safety net. Subbie can unlock whenever he wishes. Therefore in my mind he is (psychologically) already as good as unlocked.

You emergency keyholders (and yes you are also a keyholder) simply need to let go of this last bit of control in order to experience the full feeling of denial, "out of your depth' and out of control.
    Otherwise it's only a game.

There, now you can debate as much as you like.
However, there's no way you would change my mind.
Or drum up a scenario of an actual emergency that would warrant such a key.

    Let me start:
I don't have an emergency key.
My Looker came with two keys, and both keys are in a little vault right now.
We bought the vault because my Lady was unable to take the keys with her all the time, so sometimes when I was home alone, I would find a key on her dresser or something.
And although I never cheated on her, or even picked up the key, it felt wrong...

Deep inside I knew that if I really wanted to, I could pick up a key, unlock, masturbate and relock. And that felt wrong. Again, I never did, and never had the urge to do it, but I didn't even want to have the possibility.

So I told my Lady and she agreed and bought the little vault.

Now I am totally unable to get to the keys. And it feels great. :)
The first time she shut the vault was actually a pretty exciting moment.

As shown in the other emergency key thread our spare key... 2015-04-30 16.50.13.png

I won't call it an emergency key as even in an emergency it is totally useless. In a "true" emergency the lock "could" be cut off... But other than that it reminds me of my commitment to my Wife.

In my mind - emergency keys is just another ball in the bowl, in the same league as contracts and supervised cleaning. They are here to add another element to the scene with the purpose to feed the subs mental and Physical awareness of his conditions, and surrender. At the same time it is backdoor, if what You asked for is more than you can handle....
But really , that is not the prime reason! The raison d'être of emergency keys is to be a fetish , and object to materialize the hand over of powers, like the contract, the cage etc....
I my short experience - this is all just a parsing phase. Most subs seems to free themselves from the needs of these fetishes ( some do love their devices too much - and I can relate to that still ) , and become over time true subs in mind and body, reprogrammed by denial and clever management of the subs master and commander....

But until then - Have true fun playing hide and seek :)

i agree. Its much more fun not having an emergency key. My wife has threatened to leave the keys in her desk at work, though I dont think she has as of yet, but just the thought is exciting.

My wife only kept one key for my cage, she keeps it with her, where ever she is. Even when she goes away on holiday, to me being locked in a metal cage with no emergency key, makes the 24/7 experience so much more erotic.

You cant beat the intense emotion of leaving home for a business trip...locked and feeling horny...knowing the key is somewhere in the bedroom..
i have had one near miss... and it had the same degree of excitement as when i first told her about my desire for chastity.... fear and extreme excitement! ;)

You likely annoyed everyone enough in the other thread that they don't wish to contribute to your little arm waving "look at me!" attempt of a thread.

That'd be *my* reason; I'd hazard a guess it echoes with a few others as well.

Never had one, but Ma'am has them in a lock box in our room, I could always call her for the code, and she wears a key on her wrist at all times.
Only "close calls" have been metal detectors, which wouldn't really be an emergency.
I asked her if I should remove the cage this weekend for a ten mile run I'm participating in, she wasn't really up for it, but maybe she would give me a key for the day in case I fell or passed out or something...

When I think of emergency key, I think "what do you define as a emergency?"

If in a accident, knocked out, they aren't going searching for a key. They will just remove the device with the safest means they have. (A kinky friend is a EMT and explained that to me). As for other emergencies- requiring a doctor- which I have experienced the ER with my device on - there was no need for the key- I had a leg injury.

So, to the next emergency I could think of that would define as a emergency - "Metal detector"... Say going to a sporting event, or museum that had detectors and you show up without knowing. I can't define that as a emergency with the technology today and web you can find that out. trust me I do look before I go wearing a stainless device. And if in a real emergency and needing to fly, I would deal with the TSA and just do a private screening and explain the emergency and reason I wear it. I have read enough times where people pass through with devices on, not the most pleasant experience but they pass. I have been screened with my PA in - not in chastity- and questioned and allowed to continue.

For us, and myself, we prefer no access to a key. Even with the Looker 03 from Steelworxx the lock is brass on the device and PA hasp, I could break them and get out. So we just couldn't come up with a "real" emergency that justified me carrying a emergency key. It would tempt me too much . :)

@MsAmanda well said!!! What a fun thread! We have one key and one key only... And it hangs around my neck 24/7 as much a fun reminder for me of the power it holds... As is the little extra reminder that dangles between PET's legs. With every step she knows who she belongs to... And who she serves! The only "medical emergency" I could think of that would require removal would be an emergency circumcision!!! LOL My PET proudly wears hers to any check up and looks forward to little chance opportunities where she can be 'outted' without saying a word as my property.
There is only room for one key and one key holder in our home! But we do have this little fantasy of sharing that key with key holders around the world who want to play???

Again Ms Amanada GREAT post.... You said what I have thought for a long time!

I suppose if you wanted to share with another KH you could have a system (possibly reciprocal) using something like Emlalock?

I have just one key. There is no need for another. Perhaps if I kept my sissy in something like a full belt, then there might be a need.
I have no doubt that if jemima needed the cage to be removed then it could be removed quite easily. The reason she doesn't try to remove it is because she knows I would be most annoyed and that there would be consequences.

Just been talking about this with Bec, and she was amazed at the idea of people "needing" an emergancy key. She said it's obviously the difference between the stayers and players.

or maybe it's just the difference between people living a live getting around in the world and those just skulking around home ?

As for those metal detector topic coming to life once more I would like to add that for me it's offensive to bother security without need. And ones sexual life doesn't account for need for sure.

Well, in my opinion, emergency keys and travel have nothing to do with each other. Unless of course it's emergency unplanned travel while skulking about at home.
And as for the metal detector topic, it simply isn't here in this thread.
