This post proves my point. You are posting to glorify yourself. No one reads posts that go on and on and on. I certainly did not.

The idea of "deadening" for self-improvement is intriguing. Thanks for bringing it up!

Woman was created as a helper and companion to man and as a means to fulfill God's commandment to be fruitful and multiply. It's hard to justify gender equality thru the bible. It's hard to justify racism thru the bible. I've seen people try to use the bible to justify a lot of things. Slavery was famously justified thru the bible in the American South by many a preacher. People pervert the word constantly but to the saved Christian who reads the bible informed by the Holy Spirit the meanings are clear.

Edit: this is all getting really weird considering most of us are trying to get our wives to spank us with paddles and lock our dicks up. Hey, I can be a Christian and a pervert both. It can be both.

That post was about half the length of @littleguy3 ’s
one about the Borde-Guth-Vilenkin theorem, but you gave that one a thumbs up. Seems you just don’t like to have your views challenged.

Unfortunately we have big government that heavily regulates and taxes private businesses, large and small.

What does that have to do with the conversation? Small minded men like me have terrible following your train of thought.

The implication is that man is to be a helper and companion to women also. "It is not good for man to be alone" applies to both sexes. And clearly men and women are different no matter how you interpret Scripture.

It must be quite difficult for a freedom loving Yank to be a christian.

God, the king of kings, is a monarch and prefers a monarchy.

God doesn't like democracy, which is why god hates Yanks.

Women, submit to your husbands even as the Church submits to Christ. Men, be prepared to die for your wives even as Christ died for us. So said St Paul (sorry it’s from memory not a verbatim quotation). St John Chrysostom wrote a wonderful homily on this making clear it’s one of those passages where Scripture simultaneously makes a strong assertion and radically subverts it. We must clearly submit fully to one another!

I mean that what a constitution asserts may have little connection with reality. The constitution of the Democratic People’s Republic of [North] Korea sounds like it’s a utopia, but I bet @Design is me wouldn't read it and immediately move there.
(And likewise, MacDonalds is not health food).

Indeed: That pesky third law of thermodynamics does refer to systems in which energy is neither entering nor exiting. The earth obviously has energy entering all the time from the sun (and energy radiating from earth).

In fact I now realise this was a silly thing for me to suggest because the DPRK constitution is quite long and @Design is me wouldnt read it. Also presumably hasn’t read the American constitution either. Or anything longer than a tweet.

There are many definitions, and many people have been murdered for arguing about those definitions. (Fortunately, most of those people claimed to be communists.)

In its mythical "true" form, communism requires the means of production to be owned by the public, i.e. communally. Some communists further claim that all property must be held in common, and not just the means of production. Of course this is all so bat-shit crazy at scale as to never have succeeded; instead, governments claiming to be communistic are just dictatorships with good propaganda to keep the poor mobs on their side. At least for a few decades.

This is not true in the US. There are extremely few socialist politicians in the US (or in the world, for that matter), because socialism tends to fail horribly everywhere it is tried.

What you may be referring to is called social democracy, which is practiced in highly successful capitalist countries like: Germany.

In the US, we have decided as a country that 10% of our population should not have access to medical care at all and should just die instead, because as Jesus said "I was sick, and you told me to fuck off and die because I didn't have insurance". Some of them choose to go to hospitals since hospitals can't turn them away without a lot of extra work, and then tax-payers have to pay the hospitals whatever that costs, so in the end we do end up paying for it, just several times as much as it would have cost if we had a working medical system.

The remainder of the population have to pay more than 2x higher prices for medical care compared with other "advanced" nations, while getting outcomes from that medical care that are far worse than those other nations. Yup, that's right: We pay over 2x as much and get much worse medical care.

Furthermore, because most people's insurance is tied to their jobs, they cannot move easily from job to job, which helps to suppress real wages in the US.

Universal health care saves money, and universal private insurance (e.g. Switzerland) is a distant second. That's why all intelligent countries have implemented one or the other. The only advanced country that doesn't have universal access to healthcare is the United States. The extra wasted money from our purposefully inefficient medical system accounts for about 8% of our total economy at this point. What you call "freedom" is just a giant industry profiting off of your lack of understanding, making our entire economic system less efficient, and hurting us all in the end.

I was taught the same thing when I lived in Backwoodsia. We were all self-sufficient, and the gubmint was trying to take our rights away, and probably our guns and bibles too. I had lots of guns and shit.

Turns out that those "self-sufficient" states (with two exceptions: Texas and Kansas) are all welfare states, surviving only by getting large amounts of money from the federal government. (Texas has both a thriving import/export business, having large sea ports and an international border, and it has oil and natural gas. Kansas has hard working people and grows a lot of food.)

Spoken like a true brit. Yall have always been jealous since we kicked your asses twice. Our constitution does apply to our lives. Trust me because I live here. I have read it and the bible. I actually have to college degrees. I don't have a problem reading. I do have problem reading dreadfully long posts by blowhard who like to see there posts online to make themselves feel important.

You realize you are just repeating a narrative. Did you copy and paste it? Universal health care works great until you actually need health care.
I was hit by a car while riding and tore my pcl. I did quite a lot of research into the surgery to replace it. On many forums I found bits complaining that they couldn't even get the procedure I got. They old only get an outdated procedure that replaced the pcl but didn't replace the full function of the ligament. Many came to the states to get it done. I went 10 miles from my house. I have the scar to prove it

It’s the mark of someone insecure about their middling intellect that they have to mention how many degrees they have. Neither taught you how to spell “two” and “their”.

You spend way to much time on here. I gave it. Thumbs up because it was interesting and sincere. Your posts are long winded and boring. No offense. I'm sure you have cultivated that image over the years.
