    What's the main thing you wished you had known when you first started wearing a device or what's the one best piece of advice you either received or would like to give.

    Please just think and pick the most important aspect.

    I'll start by saying 'Never ignore a sore spot, no matter how trivial it may seem. Small sore spots can very soon become large sore spots'. I was given this advice on a kink positive forum when I first started out many years ago and it's proved over time to have been excellent advice.

    Hopefully we can compile a list of top does and don'ts based on the wealth of experience here which may help others beginning the chastity journey.

    I think the best advice I can give to newbies here in CM is be honest with yourself when it comes to your own chastity experience and don't let anyone mock you or your style. If there's something you wanna do/try while in chastity, then have at it and then you decide if you like it or not, not anyone else. If someone mocks you for something you like doing, then just ignore them and keep doing it. It's your life, not theirs. Remember that. :cool:

    I think another great piece of advice I can give is if you wanna try something really kinky but have a safety concern about it, then seek guidance from those who've tried it instead of risking something bad happening to you. An example I have here is on this thread where I inquired about something risky that sounded fun but turned out to be a bad idea: A kinky (perhaps dumb) question...

    Make sure your cage is sized correctly and bigger than a snug fit. Also, I wish we avoided the plastic cages and used metal from the start.

    My observations as I close in on 2 years locked almost 24/7:
    -Don't assume because I am excited about it that my wife will be.
    -Approach the subject as more of a one off game first to build comfort with her
    -Don't overwhelm her with desires and forced affection
    -I could keep going on approaching her but you get the idea
    -Skip plastic, it's not fantastic
    -38mm is the correct cage width for me, that would have saved me $400
    -At one point you will actually crave NOT cumming

    That makes 2 of us... It started as a means of self-control and it very quickly became a T&D obsession. I'm constantly torturing myself by making my keys as inaccessible as I can and watching porn. And I love it! :D

    Don't bother with contracts or agreements as it's constantly changing anyway. Define your hard limits and expect everything else to be fluid.

    Skip all cages, trash china knock-offs, and just get a full belt.

    years of agony having my testicles pulled on, my wife not liking the discoloration that would happen all lead her to not wanting to lock me up at all. Once I got a my-steel belt things changed fast.

    Encourage your keyholder but without topping, reassurance helped my Wife to take over fully and with total confidence.
    Also, I’m still surprised just how addictive living this way could be for both of us, and how wanting to not orgasm would be something I’m actually into and I’m not crying or dying from being denied :)

    well, I couldn’t wear a cage for more than a few hours so anything beyond that was a win for me. Belts take a lot longer to break in, but once you find the correct form/ shape/ sizing, it’s all good.

    yes it does have to come off more often than a cage, just a fact of wearing something that encapsulates the body so much more.

    A belt just seems like way more trouble than it's worth for long term 24/7 use. Just for convenience purposes if anything.

    For most, yes. However I tried cages/ tubes ect for 7 years and nearly gave up. Just giving the advice that others may benefit from if they have the same issues I did.
