    So, I think I determined my ring size for my cages (I own 3 different cages) and I recently read a post on another board where a chaste had slight but supposedly manageable problem with his device... He claimed he could get the steel ring on only immediately after release and after "refilling" for a few days, he couldn't slip the ring off until after his next release and others told him that's because the ring was too small. He also said there was no pain, swelling or discoloration so it wasn't really a problem unless/until he went to remove the ring, so it was more of an annoyance than a problem for him.

    I thought this sounds pretty damn kinky and fun, but also pretty damn risky. Has anyone ever intentionally gone a size or 2 down on a steel ring just so they can't slip it off unless they're fresh empty? If so, how did it go?

    No, good cuff ring fit allows to slip a soaped finger between the cage and your sac. It should be tight but be able to get your finger through it.

    Yes, I used that method to determine my size is 45mm (medium) and not 50mm (large) as I first thought... I tried the 40mm (small) size just to be sure of things and I started to chafe after a few hours, but that was with a plastic ring and not a rounded steel one. I don't have a small steel ring to try on.

    If your ring is too tight, you risk serious trouble should your scrotum and testicles start to swell.

    I read the finger to first knuckle thing as well. Seems to work in my case. I wear a 45 mm which seems maybe a hair big. Went down to a 40 mm and color of balls got weird. I didn't lose temperature or anything. After a day just felt too tight and went back to a 45. Seriously considering going into work on a weekend making a 43 mm that fits my cage.

    - UPDATE -

    So, I've determined my ring size is 45mm (medium) and not 50mm (large) as I originally thought. So yesterday I ordered another Keyholder's Prize cage in the medium ring size (they only allowed one size per device) and I'm just waiting on it to ship. I still have my large steel ring, but it's too loose and I'll be too tempted to just slip out of it. If the medium ring is good then I'll probably just throw out the large one and keep the extra cage shaft and lock set as a spare.

    If it doesn't work out, then who knows... Bad device I suppose. As per your advice, I'm not gonna try jamming a small steel ring around my balls and risk it getting stuck on, so thanks for advising against it. :+1:

    Another thing to consider is, if you’re planning on long term in this lifestyle, get a custom device and “dial in” the ring size. Likely you’re in between the 45 and 40, especially if you can get into the 40 but it was too tight eventually. Another thing you can do with custom is have the ring made into a horizontal oval shape. This allows a little more room on the sides for the boys, but actually reduces the gap in a way to keep them from slipping out. IMO it’s more comfortable overall.

    If you want to experiment with wearing a tight ring I’d recommend getting the hinged variety, removes the risk of getting trapped.

    My Vice Mini V2 comes with a hinged 40mm ring and I have about 3 hours before I need to get ready for work today so I'll try that and post an update on how it goes. :+1:

    -UPDATE-

    Okay, so I was able to put the small hinged ring on without too much trouble. I did have to squeeze things in a bit, but I managed to get it on and get locked up. I didn't feel any pain or severe ache, However 20 to 30 minutes later, I started to chafe a bit, most notably, where the hinge itself was started to dig into me and it was getting very uncomfortable... I have a tolerance for pain, so I decided to give it another 30 minutes before inspecting myself. When I did, I saw my balls got dark and felt cold to the touch. I figured that can't be a good thing, so I unlocked myself and took the cage and ring off immediately. I could feel a rush of blood flowing inside of things, so the small ring was cutting off circulation.

    I waited about 10 minutes before putting the medium ring back on and locking myself back up. All seems well now.

    I wish I had measured up to find my ring size. 52mm instead of just buying generic plastic with multiple size rings. even the largest 50mm ring snapped on 2nd use. Measure well and buy the correct size.
