We all started somewhere.

 

Interesting. Some of us don't mind sharing things with those we feel are safe to discuss private matters with. And some of us are in the local BDSM community so we don't mind sharing our kinks with those who have similar interests.

So I guess yea, I"m not going to share things with the few vanilla friends I have. Nor am I going to share them with coworkers but I even have a few neighbors that are on FL so I have no problem answering questions or sharing things with them.

Personally I think sexual repression is awful. I wish more people were not afraid to be open and honest with their kinks and likes. But that's just me.

For everyone else if you want to be private then that's cool. If you want to share that's also cool. Or if you're like me and share with some but not others that's also cool.

I'm honestly curious just to know how many people have ever done chastity with a device.

So how do we extrapolate from the limited data we have? If we summarize what we know so far then we can make some sort of ballpark estimate. If 5%of devices are used regularly, or 10%. If we look at those numbers and estimate how many cages each lifestyle chastity enthusiast owns, we can get some sort of figures of population in chastity at least most of the time. I think I'm out quite a lot, but it's still less than 1% of my week.

 

Too many beers and whiskies have flowed to comprehend this let alone answer with a sensible response. But... I think there must be about 5 to 10%

 

So...
5% of Number sold worldwide. Divide by say 5 devices each, and there is your approximate number of chaste men. It's a starting point to then add more data to.

 

TBH I think the numbers are skewed. Here on CM we're mostly open apart from the pre-introduction lurkers. How many are locked and are too proud to admit it?

 

I think my earlier calculation was a better way in:

Over 90% of people fantasise about BDSM. (American survey)

Assume random sorting and 50/50 preference, that gives us roughly 20% of couples do some kink. This matches an Irish sex survey.

Assume half do at least some Femdom:

10% of couples do Femdom.

10% * X Femdom couples have a chastity device they use at least some of the time.

20% of those will be serious users (Pareto's Principle)

So serious chastity users = 2 * X %

So what is X?

 

Which is why I'm not saying use that as a guide. You can extrapolate just using the sales data, and then look at other methods to confirm or adjust that figure based on further data. How many devices have been sold worldwide?

During lockdown, one of the things that kept us same was having walks and looking at couples and judging... Locked and kinky or boring

 

Add North America, Europe, Australasia, a sprinkling of Asia and South America for some reason I feel there would be less there.

 

Let's say 1 billion people might be in a culture that might allow for it to be a possibility. If X is 1,000,000,000. How many men are in "lifestyle" chastity? What if it were 500,000,000? Then we have a starting point. Then the number sold method can be checked against this.

 

A guestimate of course, but it's all we have to go on

 

10-20,000,000 is 2% . Does that seem an unreasonable number? Sounds plausible to me that say;

Around 15 million men worldwide are in chastity, which likely includes some kind of FLR dynamic and varying degrees of denial.

Question is...Do the sales back that theory?
