I just watched a thrush smashing a seed case against the path to extract the seed inside. "Anvil usage" in animal parlance. It might not be able to do advanced math logic but it sure knows that "I watched my buddy A do that, so if I do it I might get the same result." Learned behaviour is a form of logic. I'm replying to this comment because I think we know so little anyway about animals: each century arrogant mankind says "we know this, we know that about species x.." and it all gets refined and changed. Or that "the first creature x appeared y million years ago" until an older one is found....

We are animals after all. We just like to think we aren't.

It is all personal point of view though. Some might call the ability to borrow money that they could not come up with opportunity rather than servitude. The opportunity to do something with that money that you could not do on your own, be it business or personal. Isn't "findom" a sexual term that is used by workers in the sex field to sexualize financial transactions?

 

You can't walk away from borrowing money in a lot of circumstances though. Society, at least U.S society where I'm from, makes it so that debt is the only way of survival for many people. Wages are not high enough and living expenses are to high. Maintaining your creditworthiness and thus your amount of debt is sadly crucial to your survival. If you just walk away and don't allow yourself to get exploited by your financial institution, you are not going to be able to go to the grocery store, pay for medical treatment, ect.

 

So you believe the course of humanity is preordained?
Whatever will you suggest next... flat earth?

Yet despite repeated challenges to do so, you can suggest no viable or even sane alternative.

I do recall reading somewhere this regarding banks

They can create money by being able to lend out 10 times more than they own and that they consider money they have lent out and the predicted interest payments as being money they do own.

So by lending out 100 units they now have 1000 (on paper)
if they lend that out they then have 10,000 (again on paper)
you can see they just create money that does not exist.

Also if you borrow money through a loan arranged online or over the phone unless they have an agreement physically signed by you in wet ink you have agreed to nothing and consequently owe them nothing

If you borrow any of this money in theory you do not have to repay it as the bank is not in a position to show how it has incurred a loss through your actions.

The purpose behind student course fees and student loans is to get a lot those that will eventually be in positions where they earn a lot of money and or have positions of responsibility firmly in the grip of their own self imposed debt.

In the mid 80's the miners went on strike and this time instead of there being a labour government that would just roll over they were up against a conservative government led by aprepared maggie thatcher.

In preparation for this the final strike she had made finance easier for car loans and furniture and holidyas etc and to get into serious debt which made it possible for people to buy houses they had been renting at a discount and with much more easily available mortgages. The money from this came from banks who were allowed to lend out 10 times more than they owned ON PAPER.

The miners unwittingly walked into a trap. Led by the communist Arthur Scarghil they did not have a prayer. Within a month of being on strike they starting to get default notices and it was the banks and finance companies taking the miners to court that brought them down.

Morally its up to individuals what they think... but as a strategy it was undeniably brilliant.

We are almost all in some kind of debt ergo 'servitude' even if its only your utility bills and owed taxes.

I am confused with this thread it started of with some sort of link to findom that did not really work.

It reminds me of Henry Kissenger making apoint with something that has nothing to do with point.
a person indulging in findom gets the enjoyment of giving money. The person taking the money provides the service.

The bank gave me a morgage I had to repay with interset. I don't think findoms give morgages they just take your money. I could even sell my house and get my money back with interest. Thats where I lose the connection between the two.

I don't think any the guys on here get a hard on thinking about their bank..
