    The reason why all of the "powerful" men in this discussion thread were obsessed with power is because they rejected their natural submission to the relational power that women have. It made them incomplete and crotchety. Women are the planet and men are the moons that orbit around them. Just accept it.

    Tying power and influence to another's passions and cravings -- seems like a bumpy ride to me. Power comes from a person's own agency -- what he or she does in the world and how they treat others.

    What you describe above, I would classify as a "rush." It's a real rush to be loved and craved by another.

    Power is an aphrodisiac for some people. Chinese herbs, frilly knickers and oysters are for others. It totally depends on the person. I don't think there can be such a thing as an "ultimate" aphrodisiac, because we are such a diverse and individual species.

    ...and thank Goddess for that. How dull life would be if we were all chasing the same thing for our pleasure.

    Kissinger is an amoral unscrupulous political manipulator with the blood of tens of thousands of innocent people on his hands. I know not and care even less what got his cock hard.

    I feel like you're shouting... LOL, just kidding! Don't whip me. (Then, again...) Amazing how easy it is to get off-topic from the OP's intent, isn't it? You are spot-on. Another paraphrase, as the quote has been morphed and mangled since antiquity is, "Behind every successful man is a ____ (strong, great, etc.) woman."

    Men may be out front, but women have ruled the world forever. Men can achieve everything, and throw it all away in the dogged pursuit of a beautiful woman that he cannot (or perhaps should not) have. Chastity and key-holding simply makes a universal truth more obvious.
