Male’s chastity going into mainstrea? At las;)t

Did some Googling - it looks like June 12 2009 (or maybe shortly before that) was the day that Chastity Bono publicly announced she/he (never sure which to use for this) was undergoing gender transition to become Chaz Bono. Here's a news story from the 12th:

Since Chaz Bono transitioned to Male, this would suggest that he currently identifies as male and likely prefers He/Him pronouns

Yes, I would certainly use "he" and "Chaz" when discussing him in the present day. It was just since this was in the past tense, referring to a time before his transition I was less sure. Especially since the topic specifically was centered around his former, feminine, name. But OTOH Chaz surely identified as male to himself and his friends and loved ones long before the public announcement in June of 2009, so I guess that should have been a clearer decision, so my bad on that one.
Sorry about derailing the thread onto grammer, pronouns, and identity issues.

While "chastity" on it's own doesn't show much change over time, "chastity cage" does with hits doubling over 5 years (from 25% of peak to 50% of peak), and twice as many as usual for the 14 January peak this year (International Chastity Day) - Covid lockdown probably helped!.

Interesting that there are more hits from the UK than any other country, even though the USA has five times the population of the UK.

Internet searches are funny. You look for one thing and something similar but totally different may pop up.

I had never heard of male chastity devices until I searched “sexless marriage”, this was during my last marriage. We were having sex every month or two, no intimacy, and I searched to see if others go through a sexless marriage. Then there it was, a site called mature metal. It sold steel cages, custom fit, complete with pictures. I was mesmerized, thought it rather unnerving to have that part of your life taken from your control.

Then I saw blogs, sites, and other different sites that mentioned male chastity. Once I read you could have an intimate relationship with her participating without actually participating, I thought it would be perfect for us. I ended up not asking her, knowing she would just keep me locked without the intimacy.

It did however get my curiosity going and I researched for the next 7 years.

Yes, I saw them a couple of years ago when they played in town. Great band! But their name can complicate the search for actual, you know, chastity belts.

Another possibility is that people aren't generally searching for male chastity on google.

So I think what's actually happening is that people know where to go for their sex toys or else are clicking links from forums or adverts.

In other words, google trends probably doesn't tell us very much either way.

Yes. Do we have a good mass market entry level chastity device yet?

 

I have been interested in chastity for a long time. . . . years and years. Just started my journey this past February. Absolutely no science other than my observation. . . . . , it is a LOT easier to find a cage now than it ever was. HUGE number of styles, materials, etc. Enormous amount of literature. Even the huge membership here at CM. I can remember a time when it was impossible to find chastity porn. Now entire channels and sites dedicated to it. Most sex shops did not carry cages (if any. . . . I certainly never saw one until the last year or two on a shelf in a store). So my non-scientific observation is that there seems to be a lot more interest. So either a very few of us are clicking until our fingers bleed. . . . . or there are a lot more of us. It has a huge stigma though. Which is a shame since there seems to be no downside. Can't say that about too many things. I am FAR from an exhibitionist but on occasion I'm quite certain my cage has been seen at the gym and it really causes no unusual staring. No one seems to care. That alone, I think, suggests that more people are aware.

Yes, we do. I believe this is the whole range of HT products. Also Kink 3D with their Cobra is a good example. Both products are available not only as genuine items, but also as inexpensive replicas in the shops like Aliexpress or DHGate. Problem is they're still not popular enough...

 

I had a cbx clone for three days then went for the HTv4. It has to be a two piece like that to make things easy. Got a Cobra coming and that looks similar in ease of use. In the UK, when Ann Summers stock them, it's gone mainstream. Just checked...it has not!

Giles_English's post made me curious so I searched through their U.S. website. Lots of male chastity books in the marketplace, some fetish wear, but no actual cages.
Now if only said books were stocked in the physical stores... Then maybe you could argue it had gone mainstream.

 

They did back in 2020. Possibly indicative that they dropped them.
