    I have never noticed anyone wearing a key in public. My Wife (KH) wears her around her neck all the time. A few years back, a young lady (30ish) came up to my Wife and asked her what the key was for. My Wife told her it was the key to a happy life. The lady just smiled and walked away. I guess she knew what it was for, but I was never sure...

    This was a while ago, and I only found out about it from my wife. When we were using the Holy Trainer, my wife kept a key on the ring that has car keys, house keys, etc. That key stood out from the other ones, but who would take the time to notice it? Well, her sister was in the car with her while she was driving one day. She said, "What's that key for?" My wife said she was freaking out on the inside at that moment, but said calmly, "I forget." To her relief, her sister just let it go. When she got home, she took that key off the ring immediately. I told her, jokingly, that she should have told her. Her sister jokes about my wife being really innocent and almost prudish. Part of me would love to see her reaction having that illusion shattered.

    I think I might have been spotted in real life. I'm fairly certain the lady on the beach in Crete was looking a little too much at the goods, I looked down and I did think the lock bulge might have been in view, through my wet trunks. TBH, I didn't care, if she knew, she knew.

    Our HTv5 is the perfect cage but has the ugliest key. She doesn't like to wear it because it is so ugly. Recently we took a weekend driving trip and She did wear it on a necklace a bit. She took it off and hung it from the rearview mirror. On Monday she picked up a co-worker that needed a ride to work. The key was still hanging from the mirror and the co-worker asked about it. My KH told her it was for our chicken coop (raising chickens is a trendy post-Covid thing where we live but we don't have any). Nothing more was said. My KH holder told me this story and then finished by saying "We know there is only one caged cock on our property". So very true!

    Coming through the airport in Heraklion, Crete. I'd put my metal cage into my carry on bag, which goes through the X-Ray scanner. I've never been pulled aside and had my bag inspected, but I'd swear the lady sitting watching the screen gave me a very long look.

    Good for you. I've tools this before, but when my wife used to wear the security screw key, a 90 year old friend twice injured about it. She said it was for a jewelry box, but we don't think he believed her. One of her sisters asked too. I'm hoping she will start to wear it again, but had a sarcoma cut of her chest recently, and can't hang anything open it yet. as it is still healing.

    Okay, everyone go on Amazon and search “heart and key jewelry”. Ninety-eight percent of the public (yes, I made that number up), wear a key to their partners heart (even if it’s a key to a luggage padlock).

    Now, if you spot a key around my wife’s neck it’s so she doesn’t misplace the key to my locking cuffs while she’s out grocery shopping (the key to my device is for a security screw).

    So, when you’re giving a “knowing look”, to a stranger, check-out clerk, barista or you cousin. You probably don’t “know “ anything about why they wear a key.

    The heart and key are quite common, and dont mean chastity. My wife wears an ornamental key, but there is no heart, and it does represent the real one. I wear an ornamental padlock. We've never been questioned about them. I haven't even worked out my story, and might fumble if asked...
    I do find myself playing with it as a comforter at times, and she will sometimes touch her key on the necklace if she notices. They connect us in the moment, and everything around us melts away for a second and there is just us.
