As a parent of a transgender child I totally support our transgender community.

I totally get that while my child was born a boy, she is totally a girl. My wife and I will do everything to help her through this very difficult journey. And it isn't a journey anyone would choose just on a whim. It is a difficult journey. And the biggest threat to my child, and all in the transgender community, are the transphobes that denigrate the worth of our trans people, spread misinformation and jump on bandwagons to legislate them out of existence.

We only have one life. We need to be true to ourselves. And that is what our transgender friends are trying to do - be true to themselves.

That is a great quote and that is how it should be. Maybe adding this: "as long as you don't cross boundaries, disrespect, threaten, harm others".

If someone tries to explain me that male & female doesn't exist I can accept his/her/* view, but I have all the right to say: " nope, don't agree and not in my name."

Do I also get a "Fuck you", because I believe that man and females exist and that 99,9% of people can clearly differentiate between a man or woman?
Let people how they want to be. I think that wokeness results in hate and is only there to make people fight each - a very old method which is still working -> divide and rule.

In Germany it's different, a (born)/male got a specific political seat which was reserved for women because he identified himself as woman. This resulted in a big discussion and most politicians totally agree that this seat is OK for him/her. Even worse: some say that, "If someone identifies himself as woman, he is (!) a woman".
Also the minority of queer/transgender have a very strong lobby here (there is even a " Queer Beauftragter"now -> https://www.bmfsfj.de/bmfsfj/minist...queer-beauftragter-der-bundesregierung-194278).
Would like to see if there would be an equal strong lobby for children, old people etc. which are less loud and get unfortunately less attention.

I wish that people would stop disrespecting, denigrating and discriminating against trans people. Their life is hard enough without having to put up with all the anti-trans sh!t. I know we shouldn't assume. But your statement indicates you would be against laws that threaten the very existence of trans ppl.

I am pretty sure that trans ppl aren't the ones saying male & female don't exist. Of course males and females exit. You WILL NOT hear an argument from me to say that males and females don't exist. But for some ppl the reality is that they were simply born into the wrong bodies. And for thos ppl, it is essential that we, as a society, provide all the support we can to help them navigate this journey that THEY DID NOT CHOOSE. I say they did not choose, because ultimately they have had no control over them being trans.

And FFS. Don't let this degenerate into an argument about 'wokeness'. This has nothing to do do with being 'woke'. For many trans ppl, this is a matter of life and death. The statistics about suicides among trans ppl who don't get support are horrifying. That was one of the first things we were told when we sought out support for our trans child. The trans-phobia out there (politicians, media, twitter) just makes it exceptionally difficult for trans ppl just to get by on the day-to-day.

And by the way, I am also an old stale pale male.

 

I have and always will support transpeople and in fact I don't understand what other people concerns are if he/she defines him/herself as man/woman. Why should I care?
What I care about if my son's sexual identification is questioned in school, when he define himself clearly as a boy (which happened recently when the class got two external "sex education coaches").
Regarding suicide rates, I agree this is a problem but I am not sure if it will deconstruction male/female which is done by those " gender coaches". You are right, that transgender support (let's do this!) and transhumanism/gender wokeness (a very loud minority which is getting to much attention) are two different topics.

You are making WAY too many assumptions here. I don't know if the "he" in your statement is the OP or the person who made the movie, but I don't know who made the movie nor do I know any of his background. I assumed the movie was pro-woman judging by the intro given here, so all I did was search for it and post a link, to save others from having to search for it. If you had done ANY research on me, you would know that I have been nothing but supportive of you and your journey.

And just for the record, I am 100% pro-trans.

I've seen about 10 minutes of this movie and that was enough. This guy keeps talking about the "truth" and shows no understanding of what it is to be trans. I thought this was going to be a pro-woman movie, not an anti-trans movie.

Everything Matt Walsh has done since he abandoned the white supremacy and child marriage content he used to create has been about eliminating and hating trans people. He is vile. If there is a guy who used to create videos about the dangers of people of color thriving and about the virtues of child marriage, and he creates a video about how stupid and awful transgender people are, and you gobble it up then you are just as terrible as he is. Not aimed specifically at you, since you claim ignorance of his history, but directly aimed at those who know who this guy is and still enthusiastically spread his message. You are a hair's breadth from being Nazis and I hope you are banned from this site.
