The hairdryer is an old fashioned chair model which is on a pole that is anchored into the upholstered chair back. Once my head is inside and the face shield closed the dryer turns on. This is a steel helmet and not a clear plastic dome.
The dryer chair has padded arms. Leather straps are buckled to hold each wrist to the arm and a long strap is placed behind my elbows around the chair back to the other elbow. My ankles are simply my belted to the 2 front chair legs. A loose belt holds my neck to the vertical pole.
I don’t know why, but there is a strange comfort once I am all strapped in. Oh! She also uses a long belt around my waist to keep me seated to the back of the chair.
She then asks me if I deserve to have ear covers on my ears. I usually say that I do not deserve them but would like to have the cotton ear shaped pads cupped around my ears. This hot treatment would likely burn ears as they are quite thin and exposed to heat from both sides.
There is only 1 fan setting, but the beating coils are thermostatically controlled and the temperature can get to 142 degrees Fahrenheit.
A typical session lasts For 45 minutes and I am sometimes left with just the fan from 15 minutes to as long as 4 hours. My wife sometimes reintroduces the heat for a short time on long sessions, but unless we have an engagement, I do not know the duration until the end.

Btw, this hairdryer is a Bonat. You can easily find photos of Bonats on the web. Ours is about 60 years old. I have completely desired it, added a heating coil to an empty groove in the ceramic, and I have put an automotive quality paint job on it.
