Quantifying how many people are using chastity devices

Remeber to divide by the average number of chastity devices purchased per person! I'm pretty sure that number is >>1 if my experience and others here are typical

 

Well that's part of the fun, we just never know how many other chaste chaps there are! How often I wonder do we pass by or maybe chat to blokes in our position! Indeed how many work colleagues or people within our social circles! Gives us something to ponder!

 

It to be a stick in the mud, but plenty of toys are purchased with the best intentions of using them, only to get relegated to the back of the drawer, never to be seen again.

Plus there are the ones that do try, and decide it isn’t for them, and the ones that buy a bunch and their wife isn’t in to it. I had bought 5 devices before I had even talked to my partner.

The numbers would indicate that awareness of their existence is up though, and although not mainstream, have noticed chastity has its own category on porn hub and other sites.

It is something to go on, but as others have done I have bought a few cages, 10 so far. But I also do wonder how many people around me are also locked up, only the other day I was in my local coffee shop and i was watching people come in, and I was studying them to try and see in they were wearing a device.

 

Good point! I must admit I tend to think of it as more of a lifestyle but I imagine there are probably at least as many who use chastity for playtime!

It's most likely less than 1 in 100 sales mean one in chastity, maybe even 1 in 1000. I have bought 14 so far and only use it part time. Some buy it as a funny gift e.g. for a bachelor party etc. and never use it. Some buy it e.g. journalist/writers that try it out for a week or two just to make a story about it etc. And most likely a lot buy it and quickly find out it's not for them.

But it would still be interesting to see estimated sales worldwide.

 

I don't imagine for one minute that most wearers have only ever had one cage/belt/device and I think it would be quite a few more as well.

 

Why not try asking people .. if they can remember how many devices thay have had in total, including the current one
I might have to consider this a while longer but in about 20 years of using and including replacements and the two plastic ones I've never worn that I was sent free with more expensive purchases
about 16 or 17
Im hoping the one we're planning on getting next will be the last.

Thats not quite one a year on average and i do not think I'm alone in those kind of numbers

Is there someone who can pull the number of sales date from DHGate, AliExpress, and perhaps eBay? (I don’t think Amazon provides counts of sales, just reviews)

I have a box full of them, but it’s less than 100, and it’s more than 1... so the number is 10, plus or minus.

I think we’d be happy to know if there are 1,000,000 or 10,000,000 or 100,000,000 of us.

The custom manufactures may make 10-100/yr depending but likely not 1000. But there’s only about 10 of those. So we don’t need to count the 100-1,000 custom devices per year.

That’s about 20-25 custom devices.
And at least 10 Chinese devices.
So I’m about 32 devices.

(Younger men probably have more Chinese devices than I do, as I started before the mass market explosion)

Aside: Gosh I need to have male chastity yard sale! I really only wear my GA2 and Contender now, and should clear out my stuff.

So I’m halfway between 10 and 100 in orders of magnitude (32 is a half order of magnitude between 10^1 and 10^2, being 10^1.5)

A poll here asking if you own at least 1, 3, 10, 30, 100, or 300 devices would nearly get us an estimate of the divisor.

Beyond multiple purchases by one individual that lower the people participating in chastity, the potential pool of people in developed counties is extremely large. Depending on how you define a developed country there could be 1 to 2 billion possible candidates. I think playing with chastity is more likely a past time in a developed country, rather than elsewhere because it is not an essential part of life. So even if millions of devices are sold the percentage of the possible population is very low. Like most fetishes, chastity play is a very minor component of society, but that's fine. For me, it only matters that I like it and that there are others, even if just a few, who like it as well. Interesting topic though, as I've often wondered if anyone passing by on the streets is wearing a device too.

 

I only own 5 devices personally but I would imagine it's not as uncommon as you would think.
There are plenty of men who buy devices and have the fantasy of being in chastity but are not chaste, the same as many men have the fantasy of being in a flr but won't enter a true flr and empower their Domme.

That said there in my experience has been a constant upsurge in interest in flr and chastity.

 

Whilst you might establish a divisor and if you are extremely lucky maybe even an accurate one but a divisor for what?
If you were able to find and contact most of the manufacturers and or retailers of male chastity devices do you honestly think they would give you accurate numbers or even close estimates as to how many they have sold?

Read up. We’d take the sales numbers posted on the DHGate and AliExpress websites. I don’t need to estimate the custom manufacturers sales numbers. If we wanted to, we could ask people for their highest order number. But it’s a small fraction of sales compared to the mass made Chinese sellers.

If you don’t ask or try, you’ll accomplish nothing. This is a general rule in life. If you don’t believe it’s possible and aren’t part of the conversation to help do it, or figure out how to make the idea better, why even bother responding?

I have about half a dozen cages, but I'm only occasionally wearing one. Counting cages is a poor way to determine how many men are caged. Many are probably purchased as a curiosity and never really used, while many are tried, but do not fit well enough to try again.

Really the best way to see the numbers would be to do a poll. I suspect that the percentage of men that have been caged within the last 30 days is very low indeed.

I know of 2 people who have worn or are wearing a chastity device! One was a coworker who sat in front of me and I saw the distinctive bulge of a cb2000! The other is the husband of one of my nieces. He once started a conversation on chastity at a family party but was quickly shushed by his wife and mother-in-law. I have also seen the distinctive outline of his device and lock in his swim shorts!
My thought is it may be more popular than we think. Btw both the wives are nurses, who I believe are kinkier than most women!
