This place is sooo much kinder and understanding and welcoming and accepting compared to Fetlife.com (Sodom and Gomorraha) and Reddit (Dumspter Fire #1). Most of the people here are well-behaved gentlemen who adore their lady. <3 Nicole
I joined Fet Life a while back, and was put off by some of the administrators attitudes. Definitely not friendly. I go there on occasion to read, but not participate in discussions. like they say, there is no place like home, and CM is definitely home.
Most of the administrators on fet are over grown man child's who who abuse their position because they are losers in real life. The really don't like it when you call them out as fake doms.
Fetlife has a tendency to explode every now and again. Never bothered with Reddit. It seems to be mostly young guys with superiority complexes
The main reason I'm on FetLife is to keep up with my local kink community. Otherwise, it's mostly a challenge to take seriously. I occasionally end up on Reddit if I'm looking up the answer to a question, but I don't stay on it for long.
Had a perfectly normal meal and conversation. No bag of severed skulls, no peg legs, no weirdness to speak of. Not sure if we should be pleased or disappointed.
I moderate groups all over because I'm old... err... I've been doing this for a long time. Reddit is a younger demographic, so one does not typically see the relationship issues. It's more about how to buy one, put it on, how to tell ones partner, and those things. Sadly, most groups devolve into "Here's a Pic of me in my cage, what you think?" unless they are heavily moderated. Fetlife is a mixed bag, but the forums don't lend themselves well to side topics, or getting to know people. Web forums like this were designed to be more of a personal conversation board. Also, the demographic tends to be older more mature users.
It is always interesting to look at other sites but CM is the one I come back to don't think of fetlife as a chastity site so much as a general kink andan unrelated personal and political chat site with a vast collection of memes and pictures which are not all sexually related, which range from poignent to satarical indicting amusing thought provoking sad and sometimes damn funny
I did FL for a long while and only signed up to this relatively recently. I'd tried a couple of forum based sites and mostly they were too dead or too odd, so I expected this to be the same, but it's turned out to be kink home. Because of work and just who we are, we're never going to be really involved in the local scene and I've not found many connections on FL, despite being there for about 15 years. There are a lot of forums where you hope for discussion and differing viewpoints, but people just get shouted down for not asking questions the right way or because it's been asked before. It ends up being quite monochrome in its outlook. Plus, they've had issues on safety and data in the past. I still pop in, but less and less frequently and it doesn't look like it wants to change things up. Reddit is kinda fun. Easy to jump into, good for a variety of takes on life and on kink. Superficial pic sharing to essays from a perspective. I moderate a femdom art group there and it's enjoyable.
Fetlife is a no go in my opinion as the require a mobile number for signup. Even when the claim that this is for "security" its a shame. They could add a SN "unverified" tag next to a user, who didn't want to give them their mobile number.
I joined Fetlife when it began and John had a ton of great ideas, It was becoming one of the biggest is because John let everyone join, all one needed was an email. No vetting open any type of group and for a bit was out of control. Until the credit card and banks from Canada and the US cut him off, he had to make changes or die. Then he began going off the deep end. That's where it is now. I visited three FET I have owned groups from the beginning this site and a sissy site, everything else is just like Fetlife.
