Ireland (where I live) can be dominated by religious fervour. Locally it has been suggested that the virus is God's judgement on our recent decisions to legalise abortion and same sex marriage. I would argue that God's judgement is to permit Trump to be in charge of USA in the midst of a global pandemic. How come Trump survives and John Prine is taken? Thank you God. We'll remember that.
