Plenty of beauty salons will do intimate waxing once lockdown is over.

I had maybe three waxing sessions. All over.

Everyone is different but my experience was that it was not for me. For maybe 3-4 days after I had a red rash. That faded then I had maybe two weeks of being hair free. Then it started to come back through and I had to wait until it was long enough to wax again!

Maybe with time the root would have weakened and would have got better but I find a shave twice a week keeps me nice and smooth.

    Waxing hurts like fuck too!

I've been told that the hair grows back in softer after waxing, as tip is not sharp. So there is less stubble feel. did you find that in your case, Kate?

I'm a fairly harry guy, and used to have my back and shoulders waxed on a regular basis. If you trim the hair that is going to be waxed down to about .5 in. or 1.5 cm. it will make the whole process easier. There is some pain when the strips are jerked away but it's not that bad. It feels a little like firm strike from a flogger. I do not have any experience with waxing more sensitive areas, so I can't give you any advice there.

My personal experience is that waxing gets easier with repetition.
The more you wax any given part of your body, the less it is likely to bother you.
The hair needs to be long enough for the wax to get a good grip (around 1/4 to 1/2" or so),
...but you really don't want it any longer than that.

    Also hair grows in phases,

the active growth (anagen) phase hairs will give you the best results for waxing the hair will grow back finer if waxed in this phase.

the next phase (catagen) is when the hair naturally stops growing detaches from the follicle and prepares to shed in preparation for a new anagen hair.

The final phase (telogen) is the resting phase, the old hair falls out and the new anagen hair begins to show. ...This is the worst phase for a hair to be waxed in, as the anagen hair has already developed beneath the telogen hair and will not be picked up by the wax, so the result is that shortly after the telogen hair is pulled, the anagen hair tends to break the surface and start growing.

All 3 phases typically happen simultaneously i.e. just because one hair is in anagen, doesn't mean neighboring hairs are.

After several waxing sessions on the same area, my own hairs seem to synchronize their growth cycle a bit better, the result being less pain and longer lasting results. When I am able to maintain a regular waxing schedule, I typically go every 5-6 weeks. The plague has spoiled that though, I haven't had a professional waxing since Feb

@MissyB You won't regret having your legs waxed
I have at one point or another waxed everything.
I finally worked up the courage to have my first Brazilian in Nov of last year.
...my last was Feb of this year.

Funny enough, I just got my first wax since April, last night. Oh man it's good to be smooth again. Waxing4Men in San Francisco did probably one of the best jobs I've ever had done...and I've been waxed all over the world. Though, I've had great luck finding places.

Most of what is said here is true. The first 3 times or so it hurts more than it will if you keep doing it. As @Alana has suggested in that awesomely detailed post (KUDOS!), the hair grows in phases and gets synced up as well as shrinks over time.

The problems @Kate Medova experienced are from bacteria on the skin. I exfoliate and pre-clean with hibiclense, then after the session come home and clean with soap, then a cold shower (to close the pores). Waxing4Men misted with alcohol after the wax (something I haven't had done before), which I believe helped, as I don't have any bumps this morning (usually I have at least 1). I also added Witch Hazel (awful-smelling stuff) to my post-cold-shower routine to try and help. I don't think people realize how much bacteria is on your skin and can get into your pores.

I've been Brazillian + Leg + Underarms(less sweating after 3 times too) waxing for 5yrs, and can't recommend it enough.

I've been waxing for a year now. Started with getting full Brazilian, then added butt cheeks and half leg. Yes some areas hurt a little more than others but for me its worth it. Last so much longer than shaving and a lot less work. Would love to do full body wax and be smooth everywhere.
Follow your estheticians advice on pre and post wax care. and the advice above, and you should enjoy the end results.

Yes. It feels softer coming back through.

I showered beforehand but was advised not to until the next day afterwards. Other than moisturiser and exfoliating I was not advised to do any other maintenance. I may retry at some point but that is obviously not going to be for a while!

I have my genital area, buttocks etc waxed every 5 weeks. The hair gets to be maybe 1/4" or so and once on a regular cycle it's no big deal.

I've had the legs waxed but I quit because it takes a lot longer at the studio. My legs are not an area that my Miss is as strict about. Now I just shave my legs once to twice a week. Usually my wax'er gets the missed patches on the back of my legs cause it bugs her when she sees a spot I missed lol.

I get waxed from the neck down monthly, I love how smooth I feel and ive found over the past few years iff you do it frequently its not painful. And yes, the hair grows back much softer.

If you check my postings on my profile I did a somewhat brief explanation of my Brazilian wax experience.

If you read it and have any questions let me know.

    Btw I like it.

There's some good advice on this thread. I've had many sessions of full body waxing.

The only advice I can add to what's already been shared is:
Make sure you see someone experienced.
Take ibuprofen 45 minutes before your session, especially if you're not used to it. And, I've found aloe vera gel to be useful in soothing the skin in the days after.

Your mileage may vary. I have had my back and shoulders waxed a few times each year in the summer months. I've had some issues with post wax breakouts, which kind of defeats the purpose if appearance is part of the design brief, or at least the way you look under your briefs! Then again, more frequent waxing and better post wax care can help, and I'm breakout prone anyway.

You'll only know if you try it, and be aware your first experience and long term experience can be quite different things.

Like chastity devices, it may take some experimentation until you get the results you want.
