I guess I’ll start in that there’s a Taco Bell radio ad where the guy tries to steal his female roommates food but it says She’s The Alpha so he doesn’t. I love it as it’s cute and funny but also subtle that it shows the woman is dominant over the male.

On the FL thread we discussed M*A*S*H and how Major Margret Hoolahan was dominant over Major Frank Burns in their relationship.

In Everyone Loves Raymond it’s clear that Raymond’s mom is dominant and runs her home and even has dominance over him even though he is married and lives on his own across the street.

In King Of Queens it’s clear that Carie is the dominant wife over Doug.

It’s early here so those are the ones I can think of

This one is a bit more obscure and subtle, but the character of “Olivia Taylor” on 24’s “Day 7” season. There’s nothing necessarily outright dominant about her...it’s just a feel I got from that caharacter I’ve never been able to shake.

I quite enjoyed these, but all the same I can't help wondering how many of them were written by men. All of them, I suspect.

 

It is not the movies but the first episode of Star Trek's third season was rife with Femdom references. The episode, Spock's Brain, is widely regarded as the worst episode of the entire series but the clear Femdom influences make it one of my absolute favorites.

A race of gorgeous women, all wearing short skirts and over the knee boots, capture Spock's Brain forcing Kirk and McCoy to rescue the organ. A race of men lives on the surface of the women's planet while the ladies live underground. One of the native males describes the women as "Givers of pain and delight." The women have enslaved and trained some males to serve as guards underground. When the queen gives one of the guards and order, he clearly says: "Yes, Mistress" before turning to leave.

There are several other, more subtle, Femdom references in this episode and throughout the original series. So many, in fact, that I am convinced that Mr. Rodenberry or one of the other creators was intimately familiar with the BDSM lifestyle.

Not movies, but there are a few tv sitcoms that come to mind when talking about dominant wives. The first is Everybody Loves Raymond. Ray’s wife is obviously in charge of that relationship.

But my favorite is King of Queens. Leah Remini, who plays the wife on the show, not only controls that marriage, but she also subjects her husband to both physical and psychological torment. She is constantly belittling him because he is overweight and makes a lot of stupid decisions. She has also twisted his nipples on numerous occasions, slapped him, thrown punches at him, and threatened to hurt or murder him. Thats my kind of woman! Lol

 

I believe that the original writer of Wonder Woman was into BDSM and especially into bondage. So Wonder Woman has always been full of subtle hints of it.

Personally, while I thought the TV show was a bit corny I loved Lynda Carter as she's so beautiful and did a great job. I haven't seen the movie but the "new" Wonder Woman is also beautiful so all this sub can do is admire the pics I've seen and maybe catch it on On Demand sometime

 

"Professor Marsten and the Wonder Women" is a movie about that very topic. I remember watching Linda Evans in the original Wonder Woman and, while there was nothing overtly sexual according to my 4 or 5 year old self, there are few scenes from those shows that have somehow gotten tangled in the foundation of what is my own BDSM interests.

It all makes a lot more sense now...
