    I'd like to see some facts to back up any of that article, but most specifically that "in rare cases", metal chastity led to amputation...

    If you get a properly fitting device, there's virtually no risk of that. But cheap devices, knock off devices... You never know.

    That article is more likely to encourage those who buy that paper to try anything they publish rather then put them off. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't waste money on buying that rag.

    I would have thought some of these experiences would have been shared here by now if it wasn’t just media sensationalism which this reeks of.

    That said in learning to use the tether spout and retainer I have had a moment of panic but just calm down and sorted it out. Now I have the perfect device with no piercing

    Hence the reason for not reading it for the last 20-30 years. Do still have a local paper, but even that can often be annoyingly inaccurate!
