Just to say that I went for the "Captive Cock" cage from "Lock the Cock" with an integral catheter/sound. Welcome to the mansion. A lot of the hinged rings have a rubber tube over the hinge part. This stops it pinching so much. If your one does not have this, perhaps give it a try.

I would not leave the catheter in for too long a time. My understanding is that by opening your peehole (for example, for many hours at a time) you increase the risk of infection. I generally only use my urethral tubes for a couple of hours tops. Presumably you can wear your favourite cage without always employing the urethral option.
Yes it's optional. I'm very aware of the risk of infection and intend to sterilise the catheter before each insertion. Just felt that I needed to submit to the full package from the beginning. I'm just about to take it off now before turning in. I've been warned about discomfort and sleepless nights at the start and I've a busy day tomorrow.

Just a few reflections on "early days". I haven't tried sleeping caged yet so I'm taking it off for bath at night (I put it back on it for my morning shower). Thanks for the advice. Wasn't sure about man-made material due to possible heat rash/skin irritation (in my case at least) - though I can see your point. I'm a regular CD and made do today with a pair of "sensible" cotton panties (pink with white trim in case anyone's interested lol) which gave better support than my male trunks. Been reading different opinions on the best device for newbies.
