    Hi all,

    I am looking to purchase a new laptop as this thing I am using from the 90's is going out the window
    soon along with my house slave, I am looking to buy a new one but I am a tech novice in this area.

    There is a supplier close to me which I have browsed the options but I am nervous to click purchase.

    My budget is around £2000 but I would like to feel like I am getting my moneys worth.

    All I wish to use it for is:

    Some simple 'teach yourself coding/digital art' as a side-hobby.
    Play the new cyberpunk game at a reasonable level on my tv (I think my steam library of puzzle games will be okay).
    Chat/skype on here.
    Future proof it for about 10 years.

    Looks like a good spec, should easily run Cyberpunk (looks great on a 3080).

    But future proof a laptop for 10 years... that's not going to happen. If you get five years out of it that would be a great outcome.

    Oh yes.
    I bought two laptops within 10 years. The first one, a for me really expensive laptop, did it 4 years and then the first components got screwed up. I changed them and other things followed.

    The next one has been from 2020. Still running, but the battery is completely done now. I can write for one hour. Not more.

    The old one, back from the nineties, worked for 10 fo 15 years.

    Planned obsolescence where you look at.

    You have to take into account what you want the laptop for, work, games, watch videos, etc...
    This laptop incorporates a good processor and a good amount of Ram.
    1440p is a great resolution
