She texts me a random alphanumeric and i have approximately three minutes to write it on a post-it note and take a picture with the note next to my cage as well as a sealed small envelope with her signature across the tab containing the emergency key.

The OP was asking for advice on long distance things they could try. My wife and I do this because it's fun and SHE enjoys it.

I’ve never grasped why people make this assumption that people who make annoying comments do so because their life sucks. Why on earth shouldn’t a person be having a rich and fulfilling life yet still find time to wind people up on the internet? Variety is the spice of life.

 

It’s about multitasking, and the advent of the smartphone. Ok so maybe at one time, in order to make pedantic and obnoxious comments on forums one had to go down into a basement and boot up some massive Turing machine with tape spools and flashing lights, but in todays world it’s entirely possible to shit-talk to strangers while enjoying a family meal, or water skiing. Well maybe not water skiing. But plenty of other activities.
