Hi @joe doe, Welcome! A couple of pieces of unsolicited advice — Does your device have a hinged ring? A properly sized solid ring is usually much more comfortable for long term wear. If it’s just nighttime erections that are causing problems, a shorter/smaller cage might help. There are plenty of good cage options out there and lots of useful info in the forums here. Have fun!
Yup if you're having pain with straining it's normal. However if there's skin redness or chaffing consider trying a different ring size or device altogether. A good idea is to start with a device that brings multiple ring sizes so you can test out which size works best for you. Too large you'll be able to escape. Too small you'll never not have issues. Measuring guides help get a general idea but also a devices ring shape you might find doesn't work with your body. A little trial and error, hopefully don't spend too much money guessing around.
