Myself I wouldn’t go smaller till you feel really comfortable and have done a longer period of lock up, and just do 24 hrs when you feel like you can manage, and give a rest before the next 24hrs. As for work it depends on your job, and if its a physical one, beware of getting in weird positions and stretching of your bits and pieces. Sounds like you're being smart about. When you're comfortable maybe try wearing it work with your key handy in case. Took me about a week or so of building to go 24/7 for a day or two. Then another week to reach point where it's basically always on. Just go at your own pace and don't rush it.
