I have the plum blossom steel cage from frrk. I can’t even get the catheter tube 1/2” in!! Is it too big or what? First time, just getting into wearing cages!

You must use LOTS of lube or you will do internal damage. Make sure the catheter is scrupulously clean to avoid a UTI which I promise you is very unpleasant.

I've had a similar experience with a large urethral tube. Perhaps try using smaller sounds to loosen up the urethra with lots of lube as mentioned. I've also been told that if you urinate first, that helps coat the entire length. How long a tube are you trying to insert?

A 1/2" insert is huge for your first time! I would suggest removing it entirely from the cage until you become more familiar with sounding. If you're interested in sounding (minus the cage) do some research to ensure you're being safe.

Thank you for the reply! I have done a ton of research to make sure all of this was safe. I was only able to go in a 1/2 an inch, that was not the diameter of the tube!

Yes, about 1/2" in is where you will meet the resistance, past that point it should slide in fairly easily.

My sub-hubby had a similar problem when he first began wearing a cage with tube. As previously mentioned, use plenty of lube, preferably a sterile lube designed for catheter insertion. Or you can use your own saliva as a lube, which is perfectly safe. Using a tapered sound just before can also help to loosen you up.

As others have mentioned, make sure everything is sterile before insertion.

I don't want to start an argument here, but a person's own saliva is sterile in respect to their own body.

Thank you all for the replies!! I’ve tried about once a day to get it to go past that point! Hopefully using a sound first will work!! This is all new to me I figured it would take a little time to figure things out! The mistress my mrs. is fully on board with this new found fetish of mine!! A new way of life for us!! Thanks again everyone, be safe and well!!

Have a look at lateral sections of the penis, e.g.:
    https://www.researchgate.net/figure...e-urethra-A-diagram-showing-the_fig1_51116691
~ 1 cm behind the urethral orifice, the urethra extends to some kind of cavation. Behind that cavation, you need to find the exact position where the urethra continues. It's rather to the downside of the penis. Don't press too hard or abruptly. Apply slight pressure and wait for the catheter to glide in. When you get past that bottleneck, you can push it further without any resistance. But keep the S-shape of the urethra in mind. Longer catheters reach the curved part of the urethra, and if they aren't flexible enough, the catheter edges may hurt the urethra, particularly when you get an erection.

No, it is not! Different body parts contain different strains of bacteria. In the mouth and intestine, you have Lactobacillus. It causes caries, but also helps digestion. It does not belong anywhere else. On the skin, there are other bacteria. They make the sweat stink. In the blood vessels etc., there should be no bacteria at all. In the urethra too, all bacteria are dangerous. They are usually washed out with high pressure when you urinate. If they aren't (because you are wearing a catheter), they may creep up the urethra and infect the bladder.

You can never get entirely rid of bacteria in the urethra, but there's no need to add additional germs deliberately.

This is perfect, thank you so much for your reply and for sharing this great information!! This will help a lot. I tried again this morning and it just isn’t happening right now. I feel like I’m pushing really hard to get it to go...I’m assuming with common sense that it shouldn’t be that hard to get it in. So I will find a smaller tube or just keep using sounds for stretching a little at a time.

Once again, make sure everything is sterile before inserting to avoid any UTI.

I hade a prostate operation at the end of November and was fitted with a catheter for around 30 hours while saline solution was constantly pumped into my bladder, returning through the catheter into a bag (4 x 4 litre bags). 6 weeks later and it is still painful to urinate although not as bad as straight after the operation, so be careful using sounds as well (my urethra was stretched in theatre to accommodate the tools used for surgery) as that will also present you with painful problems. It is similar to a UTI in as much as it it like pissing glass!

Been playing with putting different things inside my penis now for years.

Yes there is a constriction about a 1/2 inch in your pee hole, which is how the tether spout works (see my albums). I ended up using the smallest retainer with mine, and its still a tight fit getting it in.

Once u get past this it will slide in easily.

All this talk about UTI, I don't think I am superman, but I have never in over 7 years of wearing devices that have urethral inserts had a infection. Your urine is the best antiseptic. for the tether spout I use some lube, for the looker 2 insert I just always used saliva. This of course personal experience, so you might be different. The steel worx product does use a very high grade stainless steel.

I remember the first time I put my first looker2 on, there was a tiny bit of blood because I went a bit to fast. Its easy to make little rips in there that produce a lot of blood, just proceed carefully. There is a little bit of flexibility so lube and gentle pressure is the key, if it wont slide in without it being too painful your orifice is too small. Its possible to stretch it a bit over time using sounds but that constriction wont change much.

    Hope this helps

Keep at it. But don't use force, just wiggle in every direction with a gentle push. At some stage, I'm sure it will just pop in, then the rest of the insertion is fine.

I've been wearing a urethral tube device (it's not a catheter, that would go into the bladder) for a few years now. No UTI, no problems. For lube I use water. For cleaning I use urine, on the way out, and soapy water in the shower with the high-pressure fitting.

Good luck. Once you've had the tube in a few times, you won't notice it's there. But it doesn't need to be 4" long. I kept trimming it back, and now use a metal insert.

i think that the folks that make the thingy to go inside you make them to wide. why dont they make them more narrow.

With a tunnel inside, you shouldn't go below 8 mm outer diameter, because the tunnel would then be too narrow to take up the urine flow. Most of the urine would flow outside, and that would leave the tunnel useless. It would be filled with urine that stays inside due to large adhesive forces and nourishes bacteria.

Neither can I recommend larger diameters, as the urethra would be streched irreversibly, and then you run into similar problems when you do not wear the catheter. Urine will stay inside the urethra and nourish bacteria.
