Do people find that the small cages do stop erections in their tracks and lead to a more comfortable long term experience / lifestyle?
Absolutely! It cost me a lot of money and a lot of time to finally learn that. I think that, as an Alpha Male who was emotionally "proud" of his penis size, it was an internal mental battle for me to consider putting it into a progressively smaller cage. But, after experiencing the pain/discomfort of permitting erections to get started inside a larger cage, we bought a smaller one and found how much nicer it was. Then we found the smallest one that I could fit into (each guy is different) and, since then, erection pain, sleepless nights and morning wood went away and life is so much better ever since. IMHO, you should get the smallest cage that you can fit into when flaccid. That really does serve to virtually eliminate those painful erections before they really get started.

Definitely. We went on to try smaller cages and have found they are best for us both. I much prefer the lack of discomfort that a small cage gives My Lady enjoys being in control through denying my orgasms and now for a year she denies me erections too. She takes great pleasure in knowing that any attempt at an erection by me will fail and that repeated attempts when the urge persists the most are reduced to little more than twitching in the cage. I have a girth issue, smaller cages cause edema for me, so I have the BON4M, though I do touch the sides at all times. I'm with you. I've been curious about smaller cages, with the idea of more completely repressing even attempted erections, but I fill my medium sized Contender and had some edema with an earlier slightly smaller cage. Can't imagine where the extra tissue would go with a micro cage.
MaleChastityNow suggests using the flaccid length. MatureMetals suggests subtracting 1/4”. I went with the latter and have been very comfortable (except when being teased!). More important surely is to measure when you are truly flaccid — MCN says something like “at your smallest but not shriveled”. Suggests at least 2 hours after warm shower or after cold swim.
I have been wearing a very small cage for 4 days now.(see my new pictures) My Wife(KH) has teased me a few times and there is no erection. My penis strains to get hard, but nothing.
