I'm new to this forum, and am going to jump in with an observation. Just got a BON4, and along with water based lube, they recommended olive oil. And thus far, I'm finding it to be a good choice. In the past I've always noticed that a water based lube (Astroglide) will actually be sticky once it dried out. I'm not finding that issue with the oil. They correctly point out that other oils are a bad idea (my understanding is that mineral or silicone oil can ruin the silicone of the BON4), but that olive oil is okay. Also, while I haven't checked, I suspect it's cheaper...
Olive oil is like most vegetable oils - it can be stored at room temperature. The expiration date on the bottle I'm using is in the middle of next year. Baby oil, if I'm not mistaken, is based on mineral oil, and would damage a silicone device. Not a problem for plastic or metal ones...
Get some Vaseline intensive rescue moisture locking body lotion (unfragranced) accelerates dry skins's ability to repair itself. Thats what it says on the tube and thats what it does for me, great stuff it is.
We used it on our babies' butts. While it would be good for the area the ring touches, I'd imagine that it would be too gooey for the inside of the cage.
I have another related question. I have seen many here say not to use mineral oil (i.e. baby oil) on silicone devices or perhaps I am not understanding. I thought the only lube you couldn't use on silicone was silicone. Can someone set me straight on that. I am having a hard time finding a definitive answer online. Thanks.
I think I will ask Mistress to try this first. She is awaiting my Bon4 anyd ay now, as she does not my ability to pull out of the CB device we have had for some time. I am very short, but have a large scrotum. I'm not happy about the thought of getting the device on, but if it prevents pullouts, she will be happy, and my feelings are a secondary concern to her, as lone as it fits comfortably for long term wear once "installed". Thanks for the suggestion!
