C. Duration: Continuous signs of the disturbance persist for at least 6 months. This 6-month period must include at least 1 month of symptoms (or less if successfully treated) that meet Criterion A (i.e., active-phase symptoms) and may include periods of prodromal or residual symptoms. During these prodromal or residual periods, the signs of the disturbance may be manifested by only negative symptoms or two or more symptoms listed in Criterion A present in an attenuated form (e.g., odd beliefs, unusual perceptual experiences).

So based solely on the post in question I’d plump for indecision.

 

The reality is that it can be a sex toy or a lifestyle. In the lifestyle sense, I would more classify it as a medical device for lack of better terminology. When used long term, it can greatly help and/or prevent a man from temptation, changing the dynamics of the relationship with his partner and his hormone levels to an extent.

It would seem this is not a valid question, because the answer would depend on the intents and usage of the device.

I describe my penis as a sex toy.

If I eat a banana in public, I do not think I would be arrested, however if I inserted into my anus, we would call this piece of fruit a sex toy. If I then dropped my pants and exposed my banana to unwilling participants in public I would and should be arrested for indecent exposure.
If someone chooses to use a cage as a sex toy that is fine with me, I will not take offence.
Again, for clarification, If I am wearing a cage and have sex with my wife, I am unable to have penile penetrative sex with her therefore the cage has not been a sex toy but rather a sexual restraint.

Depends on your approach to chastity. There are some on here who are deadly serious about chastity and see the cage as indivisible from that. For them, then, it is not a toy. Others see chastity as bedroom fun, not permanent. For them it's a toy. Each to their own.

Toy? it can be. For example, a hammer can be a toy (toy hammer for kids), or a tool, or a weapon. A chastity cage could be a toy (if using for play), a tool (to help with self control) or a weapon (theoretically to control someone). Depends on context and use.

No, wish it were sometimes, but seeing as toys are meant to be fun, chastity is not necessarily fun. I'd say it's similar to a cast that someone may put on your arm. Is that a toy? No, it's device.
