This is not a picture of me, I found it online. It looks accurate or correct though...

Saw this before, was it here or Reddit? the poster says it’s his X-ray and he didn’t expect to get xrayed.

It is good that you did not get an MRI while in the steel cage.

In a past, brief job while going to school, I repaired x-ray film processors when there was still actual film. We had to go into ER and operating room areas of several hospitals while they were active/busy.

Its crazy (and sometime dark comedy) what you see and hear in the ER. I guess they get pretty cynical over time and desensitized to all the chaos.

On the other hand, it was kind of hard not to at least chuckle/laugh at some cases that came in while we were there. I'll just say working St Patrick's day in the afternoon when there is a parade in the city and bars open early was hard not to laugh out loud in the ER as a few cases that came in.

I got an ambiance ride to the ER once. Was lucky to be able to remove the cage beforehand. But completely forgot about my painted toe nails and toe rings. They removed my socks, but never made any jester about them. Just replaced them with theirs. I did get asked about metal before a lower Cat scan. Close call.

Is an ambiance ride different to an ambulance ride?
Do they play The Orb, is there mood lighting, insence, a Buddhist monk chiming some bells?
Were you treated holistically by a some old shamen, with feathers and beads in their hair carrying a hazel wand and a bag of crystals?

    Sorry...Got to love auto-correct.

What would actually happen? How strong is the MRI magnet? Gentle pulling or literally ripping off your balls?

Prior to giving you an MRI they ask you if you are wearing any metal or have any implants
If you are unconscious they physically check.
If in doubt you don't get one
Without access to your medical records a scar over a bone or joint for example could create doubt

IF they NEEDED to do one I have no idea what would happen. I'm told most ERs in larger hospitals have the means to remove body jewellery or cut it off. And most ERs that can do operations are in larger hospitals

I don't have experience in this myself, but from what I've heard from a friend of mine that works in radiology it's more like the latter.
MRI magnets vary in strength between 0.7 and 3.0 T which is not a regular magnet's strength.

Reading from this page, the magnetic forces (dependent on the concentration of the ferromagnetic material - and we all know that there is a lot more metal in a chastity device than there is in a ring or a wrist watch) are not the only concern. The RF waves in an MRI machine cause a current in the metallic parts that produce heat. Quite a lot of heat, that can seriously burn your skin.

MRI won't yank anything off you. You will likey suffer burns from the metal heating up.

My mother had an MRI to assess her gioblastoma.

My mother had an MRI (circa 1994) to assess the 'progress' of her glioblastoma. No one noticed that she was wearing her metal wristwatch until after the procedure. It was warm, but apparently did not cause her discomfort. I don't recall whether the wristwatch failed.

I suspect the outcome might have been different had the metal been closer to the area being examined. Some newer MRI machines can generate much higher magnetic levels, but probably are better at controlling the area of exposure.

They let me sit just a few feet from her during the procedure. The only concerns expressed were whether I had metal and for my hearing.

Actually an MRI will yank thing. Do a news search for the guy who carried a gun int the room last week. He wound up getting shot as the gun was yanked loose.

I find that hard to believe. Modern guns have built in safeties that keep them from firing unless your finger is on the trigger.

So could you show a source? To me it sounds like an Internet story.

FYI I’m not saying it didn’t happen but rather the odds are slim. And I’d like to see a link if you have one.

1994 MRI’s were about 0,5 Tesla (strength of the magnet field). Now 1,5 or even 3 Tesla is more common in hospitals. Even stronger magnets are being used on academic hostpital sites. I worked in the MRI business in a support role (non-technical). From the pictures of vacuum cleaners and scissors flying through the MRI room and knowing about the force of the magnet field I wouldn’t dare to go in with a chastity device on. With the now stronger fields burn risk is much higher than back in the ‘90’s. Next the MRI is a highly sensitive high tech device, the image data requisition can possibly be disturbed by things foreign to normal use. So could hamper quality image building. I would say, don’t wear your device in the MRI. Maybe full plastic could go. Do know all material used in the MRI room is under strict quality control with exact material specifications. I wouldn’t take the risk of wearing any device, if you want good quality images of what you would like your radiologist to assess.
