    Hello,
Does anyone know a method for permanent pubic hair removal at home? I've tried a couple of methods without much success. It seems it always eventually grows back.
    Thanks!

Anything that's DIY at home is not going to be permanent. Go for laser hair removal to get rid of most of it and then do electrolysis to take care of anything left.

Hi! The IPL devices (intense pulsed light) can give you at home the treatment that is closest to a professional treatment, even if it is not the same and has less power, but it is much much cheaper.
I've read much about it recently and decided to give a try since I found a discount on amazon and I just ordered it. I hope not to be disappointed.
Anyway if you look on Google for pulsed light hair removal, you'll find a lot of info.

I have successfully gotten all my pubic hair removed and in the process learned a lot about it. I think Shepherdsflock is completely correct here if you're serious about having permanent results.

Yes. Try IPL. It is muchmuch better than they are telling you. I use it since 4 years. In the beginning i missed some hairs. It is important to know, that you fire in the follicle growth cycle.
So you have to fore at the right moment.
After some uses. I think 3 within a month
I almost got rid of all hair.
After some months of firing no hairgrowth anymore. This lastet for almost a year and now there are some jairs whoch grow again since. Half a year or so. But these are maybe one percent and really thin.
Maybe I will refresh in the next weeks.
It is really a small bodypart. Chest belly and legs are moremore compilcated and i only do shave the legs.

Costs? Dont know. A freind of mine made me a present.

Perhaps you would be willing to share the link to the device you ordered on Amazon?

Sure! The special offer finished though. I got it at 289.99 € instead of more than 400, but I suppose now you can find better than 400 in many other places anyway. By the way, this is Amazon Italy, but if you take the article number you can check it anywhere.

Epilate worked for me, you just have to repeat longterm, after some month / years the hairs do not come back.

At an expense of several thousand dollars (in the early 2000's) I had an initial series of 6 Doctor administered (in hospital) Laser treatments on my facial hair. Then in the late 2000's, for about 3K I got a deal for unlimited salon laser treatments of the same area for 2 years (which I booked every 6-8 weeks). ...And I still have to shave my face. To be fair, all the dark coarse hair is gone, what grows now is finer and lighter. I can get away with not shaving for a couple of days before most people would notice. I'm pretty sure electrolysis could take care of the rest, but that's a rabbit hole I haven't jumped into yet.

For sake of comparison, I regularly get my whole body waxed from the neck down (every 6-8 weeks) some parts of my body (like my legs) seem to be getting the memo, with the hair there growing back much slower and thinner than before.

Why use both methods ? Why not only one of the 2 ?

Both are very effective, although laser hair removal is way more cheaper but it only gets rid of 80-90% of hairs. So if you want to get rid of all body hair, you usually need to start with a few laser sessions and finish with electrolysis. You can also go for electrolysis only but it would take much more time and it's much more expensive.

my husband ended up getting laser hair removal to remove any worries with shaving/waxing. He also tried an IPL device, but it definitely didn’t do the job as good.

IPL = Intense Pulsed Light, ..at least when associated with hair removal

My wife doesn't like my pubic hair, so we just started trying IPL using a device from Philips. I will let you know if it works and maybe also post some pictures of the progress.

How effective IPL is will depend a lot on your hair and skin color. The darker your hair and the lighter your skin, the more effective.

Not all IPL devices are created equally. The Phillips and Braun ones seem to give the most consistent results. They are a good deal more expensive than non-name brands, but, like many things in life, you really do get what you pay for. You could also combine sugaring with IPL if visiting a salon for electrolysis treatments isn't possible.

I've been using an at home IPL off Amazon, cheaper Chinese model (I believe Jooyee). Tried an even cheaper one that didn't do much at all. I used this 2x / week for the first 6 weeks and 2x/month now on highest setting. Have found about an 80% decrease in pubic hair and maximum 50% decrease in chest hair. Granted I had more dark hair in my pubic region than chest. As others have said it really depends on your hair (and skin) color. It doesn't do much for light hair and dying the hair only helps a little bit in my experience.

One word of caution, I tried using it some days after coming back from FL with a bit of a tan and it caused rashes/itching. Otherwise it was worth what I paid for it ($80) but not much more. I agree with @Shepherdsflock if you are serious about permanent hair removal. On the other hand if you have a fair bit of dark hair and are just looking to reduce, not eliminate, shaving this might be for you.
