Well, from my own personal experience it is really the Woman who run the household any way. The Men just follow along and do what they are told.

Both my Grandma and my Mother were the driving force when I was growing up. I would venture to say my Mom ran the house and made a majority of the big time decisions. So I want to say I grew up in an FLR but I am not sure.

Unfortunately in our religion it is very Male Dominant and Male Centric.

In the Reformed part of our religion it would be seen as more acceptable but Orthodox and Hasidic probably not so much.

However, based on how strong Jewish Women are, I would say it would be an easy sell. Just give her more and more power and see what happens.

We are probably best described as "conservadox": Kosher-style at home, non-shabbat observant, no taharat hamishpacha. I find FLR compatible with Judaism in that I'm committed to subverting my ego in order to promote Shalom Bayit.

In what ways do you find tension between Jewish observance and FLR?

well i know a lot of Ladys that Jewish and a lot are very very nice and do lots of good things.

 

I've known people who dislike Jewish people. Why? Who knows. Any reasons would just be vague or odd.
Jewish people tend to be a bit cloistered, but that's understandable.

I went to Catholic School and everybody thought I was Jewish. Nobody believed I wasn't. I'm not.
Reason 17 why I was never invited to parties. I might be a Jew.

The one nice thing about trans discrimination is that nobody asks you about the weather .
"Hello. Thank you. You're welcome. We're close at 9." At least they didn't spit at me.
