    Can anyone suggest some interesting up to date books on the subject of FLR. I would like to learn and understand more and hopefully my wife will too. I'm thinking of buying.

    Any other suggestions appreciated.

    Yes. I have both GIG books you listed, and read them both. I think they are both reasonably good, vanillia-ish introductions but mind that I was very new when I read them, and I still don't know much.

    Thanks @WWD and @tecolote.

    I'm hopeful we are going in that direction anyway but just wanted to find out more.

    At least she would know where the water is and I'm not making her drink it and in the meantime quench my thirst.

    I know I can just go on Amazon and read review after review on there books but real input from CM people is helpful so thanks again.

    I think blogs have a lot more information then some of those books which I have read.. we all know the basics and the definitions of what FLR is.. blogs however seem to cover more in depth topics... one particular blog I follow a lot of is https://disciplinedhubbies.blogspot.com/


    H    e posts a lot of wide range topics that men/women can relate to...

    Thank you. I had a quick look this morning and looks interesting so will be back for a closer look.

    I have also since read the above book How to set up an FLR. It was interesting and I think the questionnaire could be a good approach way of working it out jointly rather than here's a book to read.

    Your correct there my KH has said she would read the books but hasn’t bothered. It’s a bit frustrating but that’s life.

    I'm reading that now. It's OK. I'm not so bothered about the real life stories sections but other parts are good. If I was going to approach my wife though then the How to set up an FLR is better for me.

    But you can gently make it worthwhile...

    I bought several books mentioned in this thread, for my wife three years ago. I offered to massage her feet while reading them. Soon it became a ritual, where she would order me down on my knees for a foot massage while reading. Six months later she ordered me to buy more books. Now I'm not allowed to speak while she reads, and expected to continue my service until she declares she's done reading.

    And everything is taking off, sometimes a bit faster than expected

    3 books down and it is clear for me that all the missing pieces of the jigsaw are contained within so if anything at least I understand what is missing and what could be.

    So I have finished this one but skimmed over the stories which make up a large part of the book as these are not what I am looking for however perhaps my wife would enjoy listening to them and I like @Mistress Raven's property way of reading it to his wife. Perhaps I could read these to my wife whilst she takes a bath.

    (Well she's in the water). Comfortable, calm, relaxed. That might be a good time to read to her.

    For me the book is written from the Dominant approaching the Sub perspective but it was good and there were a few things that just hit the nail on the head and I would love to just say to her if anything at all just read these few selected paragraphs.

    I think in circumstances where the Sub introduces chastity to his partner the unknown Dom if that makes sense then I clearly see how she would struggle and perhaps question herself where are we going with this, why does he want his dick locking up. Doesn't he want to make love to me anymore.
    And I think speaking for myself I suppose the next hurdle is trying to convey to her exactly what this is all about. Hence the books and it would also be useful to hear input on how to relay what your reading to your other half.
    I think it would also be true for me like others have said that if I just dropped a book at my wife it would be very unlikely she would read it.

    We started out quite vanilla, with me indicating that I loved how it felt when she decided when I could orgasm during PIV. Later I signaled how close to her I felt, when she touched me, without finishing me.

    So we kind of got into it quite vanilla-style, and she took to saying "you know you need to be tortured by me" (read: edged).

    After many months of this, I introduced the concept of chastity devices, and she was curious, but I didn't push it further.

    Thanks for sharing. I will try that when we next have PIV. The thing is I don't have to do much at all and 100 horses are pushing me into her but I realy will try this.

    Back to books : The hesitant mistress. The opening page a warning to males. A short paragraph but Wow I have got to read this to my wife. That's all I have read so far.

    Although books are nice in many cases, it might be easier with online sources. Are there favorite sites, in addition to CM, that anyone would recommend for similar education?

    “Uniquely Rika” is the best we have found if you are serious about an FLR. It is not erotica pretending to be a guide. I read it first and made notes on sticky notes, then she read it, then we went through it together.

    It wasn't my intention to start a book review type post so I'll probably leave it after this one before I start boring you all. First and foremost CM is a great place for all information I was just looking for something nice and presentable and clear to give to her so she can understand me submissive me better and the role of Dom.

    So 7 books later I have found what I am looking for. Im not discounting the others at all it's just that these have struck a chord with me. There are tons of resources out there and I wish I had researched sooner in life.

    Practical FLR by J. M. Scott. Book 1 and book 2. There is a 3rd but at the moment I don't think I need to read that one.

    Surprisingly both the books particularly the second helped me better understand my own submissive self even though it is written as a guide for the would be dominant. I've never realy thought of being submissive as an actual "thing" in the same way as someone can be gay or trans etc I am a sub and it's in my soul however my vision has been clouded by Internet fantasy but nonetheless I am totally sub. all the books have made me realise that it's time to put my own fantasies fetishes and Internet femdom to one side, this is about her future if she chooses to embrace the FLR.

    If anything I now feel ready to truly open up to her.

    Both books are written for the female reader. Each Chapter or lesson is breif and direct. There are no porno stories here.

    Book one gave a great insight and understanding as to what an FLR actually is and what it can be. It's less focused on chastity although it is covered in the later lessons.

    Book two seeing as I have been locked in chastity for the most part of nearly 3 months now is more focused on chastity and was therfore more appealing.

    Did make me wonder if I had done things the wrong way around.

    I feel so far these are the best books for me to introduce to my wife.

    I found a 'femdom' list on Good Reads and asked my M if she wanted any. She did, and she happily reads them ever since. I know she probably gets a warped version but hey, it gives her ideas and and that works great for me.

    Then again last night I gave her my leather work belt and a hairbrush. I just laid naked over her knees and said wouldn't it be fun to see which works better? She joyfully went to testing until my butt glowed like a camping lantern
