I’m using a good cream to stop the ring burn but does this stop the skin hardening up ? Or should I go dry to get properly accustomed. Currently use E45 after cleaning in morning and agin prior to going to bed this does stay moist for the duration but unsure wether the skin is hardening up. Many thanks
Hi Mimi, i hadn't considered skin hardening, i just use a bit of lube to put it on and sometimes some moisturiser to help burn.
Thank you for the replies, may as well stick with using cream then as it does a good job The E45 I use is a skin moisturiser and very good, does dry out around the ring either
Are you using a steel cage? I use aqueous cream after my morning shower and again before bedtime. Make sure you apply it under the ring. Better than using lube, which gets sticky, as the cream is absorbed by the skin.
Baby oil Gel when getting back in after a quick hygiene break and then sometimes a little additional application of gel for the lower part of the base ring behind my testes. That's all I have seemed to need for years even when long term 24/7 wearing a steel cage. I don't think I would forgo having the gel available but I have in the past gone a couple of weeks or so before feeling the need for it. But maybe if we persevered without any lube at all we might become hardened to it.
I typically use Desitin All-Purpose cream in the yellow tube to lubricate under the base ring and prevent the burn and irritation. However, a cheaper option is good old fashion petroleum jelly. I've found both options keep my skin moisturized and pain free. At the end of the day though, if what you're using is working, then just roll with it. Don't fix it if it ain't broke.
Currently using a Chinese HT2 very comfortable most of the time with some cream, E45 doesn't appears to get sticky either. Got a small stainless cage ordered hoping this will stop the nighttime erections as they are not getting any easier although i do wear tight underwear which does help a lot but the growth happens between my body and the ring
In my experience, metal has been more confortable than plastic, and a smaller more better fit device also makes a world of difference. General rule of thumb, of the device fits snug when flacid, it'll prevent more growth and thus, less room for skin to be pulled tighly causing the burn. I'm working on a design utilizing chain and heatshrink to hopefully modify my jailbird into a suedo belt-ish device. The hope is to not only give an added layer of security, but to prevent as much growth as possible. The jailbird was custom fit and worked extremely well for about 8 months; however, things have stretched a bit over time and I have to send it back to be adjusted. Until then, lube is king.
The HT2 I’m currently using is all but 2mm from full when flaccid but does t stop growth from behind the ring. I’ve preserved a stainlesss cage that is aprox 15mm shorter in length than the HT2 although the length is some awkward to calculate on that as it starts from behind the rear of the ring
Perhaps a slightly smaller base ring would help prevent further growth? Is your current base ring as tight as you can go?
Thanks, im using the 45mm ring, Have once managed to get the 40mm ring on but had to take it off an hour or so later as was getting very painful and not skin burn either. Dont think that one would be healthy maybe in the future when the sack stretches quite a bit, Ideally somewhere between the 2 sizes might work
I have heard of people saying you get accustomed to the ring, but in my experience there has been no hardening of skin. It just turns to a friction burn. This creates a very thin layer of skin which is th opposite of toughening. Do it enough and yes the scar tissue I suppose would be a bit tougher than the normal skin...mine looks like Frankenstein’s monster far more already than I would like so will stick to the lubricant.
I went with the smallest ring I could fit, that didn't cause to much discomfort or numbness on my Jailbird when I first ordered it. Now fast forward two years and I'm way overdue to get the ring resized. So yes...stretching is a thing. Just remember, dont give up the search for the perfect fitting device if this is important to you. Besides, lubrication is there for the inbetween times.
Just tried the HT2 40mm Ring again and hopelessly failed after half an hour to get penis thru after both testicles, just not room, maybe on a different style 40mm ring but the mounting for the cage hangs on the underside inside the ring taking that little bit of room I need
Yeah with the cage mount being on the inside of the ring means it shouldn't be labelled as 40mm. All well, perhaps a 42mm in the style would work better.
Pretty much dry. I use a metal device that fits well. I like the way it fits dry. When I first got it and was using A&E ointment or medicated lotion the device slipped down too easily (and I'm comfortably squeezed in the ring, not too big). So I am dry now and just apply small amounts of medicated lotion if I have any minor irritation (rarely) or after hair removal. I will say that I started out with and HTV2 and it gave me tons of irritation, even with using the 36mm ring. Switching to metal was heaven and any irritation is a rarity.
Update: I'm currently out and about wearing the prototype chained belt method in conjunction with my Jailbird. I need to make one or two more slight adjustments, but over all I am super satisfied with it. While wearing it, I cannot get any semblance of an erection, not even inside my body. Also, due to the design, pulling my johnson out of the back of the device is all but impossible now. If anyone is interested, i can send pics wearing it so you can possible copy the design.
