How about giving vertified females special privileges within the site maybe a topics males can't access? Maybe give them privileges to gives ratings to men depending on behavior. In other words let females gain more privileges on this community to show the natural order of the genders within the site.
I would fine with that idea too, as long as it wasn't something to difficult for site admins to implement.
How about we first grant them the basic decency of calling them women rather than the dehumanizing females?
I've asked this question elsewhere, but never get a good explanation: When did "females" replace the use of the word "women"?
I did a brief search on the topic, and didn't find a specific answer but some interesting insights here: https://time.com/4300170/female-word/ I know that I've been going on about She Makes The Rules a bit today, but it's the only forum I've been on that uses the same software as this one. They make interesting use of the emojis there: each one means a certain thing, and each profile displays a table of how many of each one a user has earned on the site. Granted, any user can rate any other user's post: even the site owner, Queen Bee, gets rated. (I've only seen one instance where ratings were adjusted: where a later-banned user went through and low-rated every post or comment made that wasn't in support of his agenda.) I am uncertain if there's a way to code the software so that only one class of users - verified women - can apply rating emojis to posts, but it's the closest response I have to this suggestion.
It's entirely possible to code whatever the heck you want given desire and money. Since this forum is a commercial forum and not in house then you could make a feature request: https://xenforo.com/community/forums/custom-service-development-requests.69/ or maybe there is an addon: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/categories/add-ons-2-x.44/
Ofcourse somebody would have to pay...maybe all the male contributors could chip in a cent...that should cover it!
I guess the answer is...on THIS site? "Verified female"! TBH I find the word arousing and assertive, whereas woman is probably more pc but is inextricably linked in my mind to the mundane. I prefer to be described as male rather than man. There is always passion in those words when they are spoken.
Wow, I can not believe that this site did not implode under its own drama years ago. It used to be a toxic swamp.
All women are females but not all females are women. A woman is specifically an adult female. Whatever connotations you link to certain words beyond their commonly accepted definition is YOUR issue. Connotations are basically “baggage” for words and usually isn’t universal although it can become universal to a specific group or sub culture (I.e., femenists, activists circles, etc) but personally I’m resistant to people policing words because of contrived conotations and “in group” expanded definitions.
It changed software platforms yoinks ago, got a design overhaul after the remaining owner dumped a bunch of money into it, and is now very quiet.
Being unsure of what sort of drama and toxicity you're referring to - I was off of the site for a few years, and missed the point where one of the owners released control of it - I don't have any insights.
