similar happened with me. they aren't uk based - the only thing they have in the uk is the domain name imo. I don't think they are a total scam but what they do is pretend to be a uk site then send the device from somewhere else. they basically buy everything from china then mark up the prices (like a lot of places.)

they may be a total scam though. I've received no tracking info since purchase

I don't mind if it's coming from europe not the uk but if it's coming from the us/china i'll be charging back the payment.

Currently I have a tracking id that is invalid when i click on it.

 

Yes it's on my order page. You should've received an "Order # confirmed" email and that'll have a link to "View your Order" click on that.

Under the map I have a clickable link under the phrase "Other tracking number:" (yep really the spelled Order like that.)

When I click the link I'm taken to a laposte.fr tracking page with the message

"Votre numéro est inconnu. Veuillez saisir un numéro valide." (Your number is unknown. Please enter a valid number.)

It's either ineptitude or a scam.

 

maybe the mobile site is different.

I have a google map of my location on my order page.

i'll be contacting them again tomorrow so i'll see what the latest excuse is.

also notice the site has a perpetual sale that is just about the end but never does. so that's super reassuring that they aren't total scammers.

 

Surely we’ve all made the mistake, at least once, of using a debit card, wire transfer or other non-insured funds and been duped. This is the reason it is always best to use a major credit card. Even if we still manage to get taken by a bad vendor, it is easily handled with a call to your credit card company. They handle it all and you need to do nothing else. Good luck.

 

dunno if the op is into it but if a mod or someone could change the title to "lockthecock.co.uk is a scam?" i think that would help other buyers be more aware.

when i complained the said that their uk warehouse had run out of product so they were shipping it from their international warehouse. i doubt very much they have a uk warehouse.

i'm still not ruling out ineptitude though.

 

I emailed last night saying that I would chargeback if I didn't receive a valid tracking number before the weekend and today I got an apology and a refund notice. The refund hasn't appeared on my card yet but presume it will in a few days.

 

I bought my first device from them. It came eventually. I’m pretty sure they are just a middleman that orders the device from a Chinese seller (dhgate or whatnot) so all you really are doing is paying an up charge.

If you aren’t getting responses then I would certainly dispute the charge and then go through dhgate (or aliexpress). It takes a while to get the item from China but I have not had a problem with the 2 orders I placed through them.

At the very least lockthecock should be noted as a reseller of Chinese devices.

Dammit, I'm also waiting for a device from Lock the Cock, ordered on Tuesday and got the confirmation email, hope it's not a scam.

 

I have purchased two devices from them, both took over two weeks to arrive, directly from China. They just run a few domains taking orders then place the order on various supplies in China, avoids holding stock as well.

 

So it's not a scam ?

 

No not a scam, you could order the same products from China yourself, half the price and no shipping costs generally.

 

the one i cancelled arrived from china today.
