The Dremel

Ah you need to move with the times you talk of the old ring cutter the newer ones are electric and cut anything. Granted not as easy to get hold of as a dremel but definitely safer.

 

We have used a dremel and a cordless drill when drilling out a frozen barrel lock. The best way is for me to be standing with the end of the cage in a vice, a soldering cloth against my body, and new bits. Starting out at low speed to get the bit started and then use the higher speeds. Rule number 1, we both wear eye goggles for protection and have a cold damp cloth on the cage. No matter how hard you try, you will get sharp pieces of metal flying around the area.

 

On a slightly different note, I watched a guy get his initials carved into an apple by a chainsaw...while he held it in his mouth. It was the Jim Rose Circus many years ago. They had other amazing feats too such as Mr Lifto who lifted weights with his penis, sparks from the vagina by using a grinder on a metal plate at the pubic bone...Ive not tried YouTube, etc...but you might find some stuff online if you try...if you're interested.

 

I once had to break the lock but no Dremel was handy. A multitool with needle nose pliers worked great to force the two sides apart until they broke.
