Note that 16499 ms and 12936 ms are *long times*. This is really unacceptable performance. If we cannot easily fix it, why not allow the user to disable the CometChat? It is really making this site unusable.
Thanks @Alceste - You know more than me on this I am sure. @L-u-c-y did post this on her profile a week or so back "If you can't see your old minichat messages or contacts, log out of the site and clear your temporary internet cache and then log in again" I am sure you may well have done that, but just in case you've not I have posted it. Hopefully it will be sorted soon
I restarted Chrome late yesterday, and the problem seems to have disappeared. I had also updated Chrome right before the problem began. It must be a bug involving this version of Chrome. Is anyone else running Chrome on macOS?
Why do you say that? It seems to be either a bug in the browser, or an incompatibility between the browser and some element of the site. It would be nice if someone with access to the software could take a look at the developer console while they run the site. The browser is still complaining as such: [Violation] Added non-passive event listener to a scroll-blocking 'mousewheel' event. Given that nobody else is having any issues that tends to suggest the problem is with your computer. I suggest you look at those possibilities before invoking problems with the site
It is not the computer. Simply restarting the browser resolved the performance problems I was having. That points at the browser, or a compatibility problem with the site.
Well, LITERALLY no one else is having issues with the site. So, through the process of elimination, we can ascertain that the problem is on your computer. And since none of us here has access to your computer, we can't troubleshoot it for you. So...
This site has had a history of performance problems at times. Thankfully since Lucy has taken over I don’t recall any. In fact in the last few months all has seemed fine. It’s not uncommon to get “cliches” when an update or change is being done, but I haven’t even noticed them. So unless I missed something and in the hopes of not jinxing things, all has been good from this members perspective for awhile.
I had issues with site and chat being really slow even unresponsive,I tried everything on my end, different browsers.different computers, different ISP, then I realized it was fine as long as I did not login,i created a new account to test theory and it was fine,, When I told this to L-U-C-Y she said she would adjust something ,which she did and immediately my original account was fine
