I think nearly all husbands masturbate during their wive's periods, i did for years. But looking back, she wasn't feeling well etc. and why was I pleasuring myself while she felt bad? My wife is going through menopause and for the past 18 months or more her periods have been all but absent, but sometimes she has one. She does not want to have sex without a condom until at least a year has passed since her last period. It occurs to me that during this time perhaps I should remain locked in a cage until she is ready. This would allow a lot of anticipation to build up.
