I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving
Something we don't celebrate here in the UK. Isn't that when those religious rebels left the ever tolerant newly created United Kingdom?
It is to celebrate the end of harvest and to give thanks for all you have
Thank you, I wasn't aware of that. We do have "harvest festival" here. Not sure if it has a specific date (sorry, not a religious person). There are harvest festival services in the churches and food is donated and distributed to people in need! I remember that as a school boy we would distribute food to "old folks" that was donated via the school!
Happy thanksgiving to you to!
Mum would pull all the stuff out of the larder and send you to school with a can of soup or spam or sardines in tomato sauce
Nope! That's the Forth of July, Independence Day!
Perhaps you meant "religious rebels, assorted adventurers, and deported criminals". You might have quietly celebrated their departure at the time.
well, very American of you. Most of the world doesn't care about Thanksgiving.
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving in US and another good Thursday elsewhere.
Well thank you kindly!
Independence day? Do you mean that America is no longer a British Colony? I can't imagine why anyone would want that ! .
i like thursdays usual cos i go and clean a flat.
Probably because they didn't want pictures of someone else's queen on their currency.
That's a very good reason indeed!
