I want to know how soon I can lock up after I get the piercing like in a bird cage style if I don’t use it for securement. Me and my wife don’t want to go unlocked for very long

I'm just thinking out loud. One thing to think about is the jewelry you have. I started with a CBR. Putting on a well fitting cage with this on would be a problem. I would think the CBR would be pushing on the piercing site.
I've since moved to a curved barbell. This would be a little better, but still think about the ball at the piercing site might get caught on the rings of my Jailbird.
How long since you were pierced?

I would suggest you hop over to the Piercing forum on this site. Might get more focussed discussions. Lots of threads there (I have one about my recent piercing experience). Happy to chat as well

It takes several weeks for PA's to heal. I went through the anxiousness and excitement period right after as well. But you want it to heal properly for your long-term health. Your piercer should probably be able to give you a rough idea of the minimum.

So there's healing and then there's sensitivity. Once mine healed, it was probably another month or more before it stopped being so sensitive.

I don’t have a PA, but I do have a Jail Bird. I’ve had issues with irritation where a PA would be located. Right now I am going through Un-Loctober to let my latest sore heal completely. Based on my experience, you probably shouldn’t rush anything, and let the piercing heal completely.

Use an elastic band to hold the Jail Bird next to your body. And maybe Vaseline :)

    as soon as you like
as long as you are able to keep it clean
and there is no undue pressure on it

You really need to be careful about hygiene during the initial healing process, which can last up to 12 weeks. You also need to soak the piercing with a warm saline solution twice daily during that period. I think it would be difficult to take care of it adequately while wearing a device. It can also be fairly tender during the healing process.

Once you are healed, then you can acquire larger jewelry and start to size up. Either get a piercer to do it, or acquire a set of long tapers. I recommend 4 gauge (5 mm) as a good size for the chastity piercing.

I have not got the piercing yet, and I’m just worried about not being locked up for an extended period of time

The point is that you want a good result. Why take any chances?

Do not trust "the Internet" to give you medical advice. Everyone heals differently. If your goal is a long-term, successful piercing, ask your experienced piercer. If your goal is to put a cage right back on - which you should not do - then do that. But kiss that long-term health goal goodbye.

You really should speak with a well respected experienced piercer. Don’t be shy about telling them it’s for chastity. After that they’re your resource and should be your go to for all your piercing questions.

Reread what @LockedAndSafe wrote several times. It’s the best advice you’ll get.

Now with that said, you will want to play after being pierced. But that’s mostly after you get past the first week or so where you’ll probably have no interest. As you heal it gets rougher. But you really need to listen to your piercer. And as you gauge up you’ll repeat this to a smaller degree.

The important thing is to properly heal. And that’s after being properly pierced.

IMHO it’s been worth the wait. But do what’s best for you.

Your body will tell you, if you try and it hurts, it's not yet time. I had mine done in the month of September and I remember being locked early november with no discomfort; but everyone heals differently.

A PA piercing in itself is a lot like wearing a cage because you won't want to touch it, it might hurt, it might make it heal longer etc

you don’t really need to soak in warm saline, since you’ll basically be doing that when you pee. Just keep it clean in the normal way.

I agree. But I don’t suggest anything to anyone except to follow their piercers care instructions.

Just go with what your piecer said to you, forget all about chastity and cages for a while and just wait till it’s all healed up and you feel ok with it!
    Do not rush it!
