Mobile version vs. real internet version

    Hi Chastity Mansion.com is there any way to turn off the mobile version of cm.com? Both me and my Miss are crazy with this site, but we are using our mobiles 80% of the time and some of the functions dosen't work properly on the mobile version.

    Under "Preferences", choose the "Chastity Mansion" style.

    Also, what's this "real" internet? Have I been using fake internet without even knowing? :p

    Lol sorry, not allways easy to express yourself in English :p

    I tried the option but for me (htc sensation) it dosent do anything. I will ask my Miss to try on her iphone. Might be a cookie isue if it works for her.

    Miss Miras bitch - It depends on your phone! If you have one of these Iphone things then I can't help - but if you have an android phone download the chrome browser and in the settings click request desktop site and it works brilliantly and everything now works! Easy!

    philfred forgot about that; using Firefox Mobile will also work (even the stock Android browser lets you specify to use Desktop mode for websites, but unlike the other two you can't do it on a per-site basis).

    Hey there Miss Miras bitch, and welcome to the Mansion.

    The problem you are having is how the site is set to detect mobile versions. By default when you view a website on any browser, and on any system, it tells the site what you are using. So when you view on a mobile device, it says "Hey i'm using this mobile browser" The website then decides what to show you. Ours decides to show you the mobile version of the site. As others have mentioned, some browsers let you change a setting to say "Hey I'm using a desktop browser" when really you aren't.


    In a nutshell this is really more our problem than your own, We're set to automatically go into mobile mode when you view the site from a mobile device. Changing settings on the mansion, wont stop this. However if we don't automatically change to mobile view when people visit the site, some people might complain it's not mobile compatible (When it is) because it shows them a desktop version.


    Hmmm, need to think of a nicer solution for this really.

    Thanks, and thanks for the welcome. I know a lot of sites have a link in the bottom to go to normal version. Dont know if that can be done.

    Not sure about whether your forum software supports this, but maybe have two appearance options available in the preferences?

    Of course, then what happens when someone wants the Mobile interface on their phone, but the desktop interface on their tablet... :p

    Another possibility is to have it be cookie-based...

    I'm posting from my ipad at the moment and sure enough it put me onto the mobile theme.

    However, I scrolled to the bottom of the page where the was a small link at the very bottom in the middle. I think it said XF Mobile. Clicking this took me to a page where I could choose what theme to use, selecting the chastity mansion theme took me back to the default theme rather than the mobile one :)
