    Dog control device can be good for a mile, depending on type. Some more (2 miles max I guess) some a lot less. Look up Dogtra & Innotek for starters...

    I've found some that were good up to 7 miles and have a GPS signal but they require these big bulky controllers and the collar itself has a large antenna. Not very practical. Best I've seen was one that is controlled via an iPhone app but it's Bluetooth so it would only work close range. Not sure why but she really wants to zap me at work lol.
