How do I oval my base ring?

    I've looked and I've saw a lot of people mentioning it. Is it done from top to bottom or from side to side? The search did not yield anything with ovaling and there were too many threads with oval. Thanks!

    You mean making your existing ring an oval? I guess it would be pressure applied top to bottom (ie. it was a clock, 9 and 3 o'clock would stick out futher than 6 and 12).

    Perfect I'm guessing it doesn't need to be a lot or keep testing it out as I go.

    if you do squeeze it in a vise, put a piece of wood or soft plastic between vise jaws and ring. otherwise the teeth of the vise jaws will leave jagged teeth on the outside of the ring, not fun.
