Normally its up to your wife how long your locked. I would say the average is anywhere from 7-14 days. Some go longer. I wouldn't worry too much about how many days though, just have fun with it.

@First time couple , well like I said if your the key holder, its up to you. But its fine to start slowly. As you see more and more benefits you may want to extend the time, but you don't have to. There is no hard and fast rules with chastity. You can play any way you see fit.
By the way, I wouldn't say its cruel to keep him locked provided he is wearing a properly fitted device. Sure it may become uncomfortable during nocturnal erections but thats par for the game. I think, though as you are just beginning, I would start with shorter lock ups to get his sensitive bits to adjust to having a device locked on. Since he has made it 4 days, I would think the next step would be for a week, then 10 days, and so on. It sounds like you are off to a good start. I wish the two of you all the best.
