Sooo..have searched and read a few other (mostly old) posts about this, as well as some of the ones about airport security etc. Wife and I are frequent cruisers so I know the drill about boarding the ship and getting back on at each port having the metal detector as you board. But wondering if anyone has gone through RECENTLY (last year or two) with a metal cage on? We just went to a concern at a big pro sports arena and the detectors there didn’t alarm… wondering if these will? Or even if they do, will the “body jewelry” comment suffice - wife wants me to stay locked up 100% of the time if possible, but we also recognize the potential issue here and don’t want to be exhibitionist about it or expose someone to our kink unwittingly… that being said, if they want to pay down or search or see it (doubtful) that’s on them not me.
I work on cruise ships and can confirm that I board and go thru the metal detectors and have not set it off. You are good to go. Stay locked and don't worry!
Appreciate the info!! I kinda figured it wouldn’t on those. I won’t dare wear it through TSA but figured the cruise was a little less sensitive. Thanks!!
They purposely set the machines to only alarm on larger size pieces of steel like a gun. Otherwise, zippers, jewelry and all sorts of things would cause havoc. The last thing the security person wants to do is inspect your junk.
Updating - boarded the ship with NO ISSUES…no alarm no nothing. MM jailbird. Had a belt on that ALWAYS alarms at TSA so figured if it did, they’d wand it or look and wave me on etc, but never had to do that. Will update again when we port in a few days getting back on through the detectors on board.
