UK Gov't Admits Evidence For Face Masks Stopping Chinese Coronavirus Spread In Schools "Not Conclusive"

The latest example of why people shouldn't blindly follow 'the science...as decreed by bureaucrats', arrived Friday, when Bloomberg reported that a study undertaken by the British government to justify forcing children to wear masks in schools has forced them to admit that the evidence for the efficacy of face masks stopping the spread of Chinese Coronavirus in schools is "not conclusive."

As reported by Bloomberg:

“The study cited by the department didn’t provide proof of a statistically significant decline in absences. The research compared 123 U.K. schools that used masks with about 1,200 others that didn’t during the Covid wave fueled by the delta variant.

Schools with face-covering rules in October 2021 saw their absence rate drop by 2.3 percentage points, to 3%, two to three weeks later. In schools that didn’t use masks, absences fell by 1.7 percentage points, to 3.6%.”

One epidemiologist quoted by Bloomberg said the government's data didn't provide strong enough evidence to justify requiring face coverings in schools.

"The study and research outlined in this report does not provide strong justification for introducing this policy in schools," said Sarah Lewis, professor of molecular epidemiology at the University of Bristol.”

Soo .... will we see an end to face diapers in schools? Don’t hold your breath!

It's not a case of one or the other, we are living in both 1984 and Brave New World.
George Orwell took us down the 'brutal' route; Aldous Huxley took us down the 'happy' route.
In both models, dissenters were first given the opportunity to recant and convert. If they didn't, in 1984 they were disposed of, in Brave New World they were all sent into exile (quarantine?) to places like The Falkland Islands and similar where they could all be 'happy' together.

But neither Orwell or Huxley were the first. The desire to control the narrative is as old as humanity itself.

On Friday the US Supreme Court heard arguments for and against two policies implemented by Sleepy, Creepy, Crazy Uncle Joe, one of which is the requirement that businesses with 100 or more employees require employees to get the vaccine or test negative at least once a week for those who remain unvaccinated.

The second policy being debated is a requirement that workers at hospitals and other healthcare facilities that participate in federally run Medicare and Medicaid programs get vaccinated. This could create serious problems for hospitals around the country that are already struggling with staffing shortages (since many health-care workers have refused the vaccine on the basis of being constantly exposed to Chinese Coronavirus every day during the course of their job).

On Friday, Ohio solicitor general Ben Flowers was forced to participate in arguments before the Supreme Court remotely after he tested positive for Chinese Coronavirus despite having been vaxxed and boosted, making him the latest in a long, long line of public servants who have contracted the "breakthrough" infections. He tested positive when he took a required test before oral arguments.

The Supreme Court required all participants in Friday's oral arguments to take a Chinese Coronavirus PCR test ahead of time, which is when Flowers realized he had tested positive for the virus.

It certainly seems Flowers has inadvertently demonstrated that not only is the Chinese Coronavirus not a threat for most workers, but that getting the vaccine doesn't mean any individual workers are immune!

The good news is, at least according to the authoritative Communist News Network, (CNN), SCOTUS appears poised to reject both of Sleepy, Creepy, Crazy Uncle Joe’s mandates.

The crazy thing is the inability to learn. Why make this your countries policy if you have seen the exact same thing fail elsewhere. China's zero covid approach isn't working and this is the kind of thing they are experts at as far as lockdowns and compliance are concerned. They are professional top down compliance enforcers and still have high covid infection rates.

 

Childhood attempted suicides are drastically up since the introduction of remote learning and the teachers unions look for any tiny reason to justify going back to it. It seems like they really are just using it as an excuse to work from home, which is fine in a office setting but it is about the children, not them and it is doing a lot of damage to them.

New US Study Finds That “OMNI-CON” Could End Up Being Less Deadly Than The Seasonal Flu!

“ ... researchers at Washington University modelling the next stage of the pandemic expect Omicron to kill up to 99 per cent fewer people than Delta, in another hint it could be less deadly than flu.”

Professor Robert Dingwall, a former JCVI member of and expert in sociology at Nottingham Trent University said:

“If we would not have brought in the measures [that are normally brought in for a bad flu season] in November 2019, why are we doing it now? What's the specific justification for doing it?”

“If the severity of Covid infection is falling away to the point that it is comparable with flu then we really shouldn't have exceptional levels of intervention.”

“There would be no justification in having 'any restriction we didn't previously have' if the modelling is confirmed in the coming weeks.”

Yet Another Young Soccer Star Collapses on Field, Suffers Heart Attack, This Times In Qatar:

32-year-old Ousmane Coulibaly collapsed during Saturday’s Al Wakra Club match against Al Rayyan after suffering a heart attack.

He was rushed to hospital for treatment.

In the last couple weeks, 4 other young football stars died after suffering heart attacks.

The Covid World has reported that Croatian footballer Marin Cacic, Oman international player Mukhaled Al-Raqadi, Egyptian goalkeeper Ahmed Amin, and Algerian football player Sofiane Loukar all died at the end of December.



Strange? ... Very Strange? Footballers are some of the fittest athletes on the planet. I wonder what it could be? Must be something in the air or the water .... or perhaps their diets? Hmmm .... I’ll have to ponder this for a bit.

Ex-chief of the UK's vaccine taskforce calls for 'new targeted strategy' to manage the virus and says population-based jabs should be scrapped after boosters as daily cases fall by almost TWENTY PER CENT last week to 146,390!

• Dr Clive Dix, chairman of taskforce from December 2020 until April, called for return to 'new normality';
• He said the country needs to learn to manage the disease rather than focus on halting the spread of the virus; and
• It comes as Britain's daily Covid figures fell for the third day in a row on Saturday, official data showed.

That's the problem with the truth, it has this uncomfortable way of staying the same no matter how much you try to spin, bend, twist or deny it.

Covid for the majority is an annoyance, an inconvenience to be lived with like flu & other illnesses. I'm absolutely certain that our governments have been well aware of that for at least 18 months but they backed themselves into a political corner that they still aren't sure how to get out of.

They allowed themselves to be led by scientists who, with the best of intentions, presented a scenario so apocalyptic they had to act. Would that apocalypse have happened, we'll never know for sure. There is some reason to think not (sweeden) but there are enough differences that direct comparison is almost impossible. Fact is, they acted. They acted with the urgency and power of a government facing an apocalypse and deployed every tool at their disposal, many of which were untested.

Those tools worked. They worked far better than anyone predicted and that's the problem. They used fear to drive compliance with absolutely no consideration of the long term, deep seated harm that inducing fear at that level and on that scale could do. People literally cast aside years of personal experience, years of real world learning that had stood them in good stead because they were terrified into a state of near paralysis. They unlearned how to assess risk. They unlearned how to think critically. They unlearned all the common sense understanding of the world around them and how it works. They did this because they were literally terrified into it. The core message for every official source, every news outlet, every street corner even was 'Obey us or die. Only we know how to save you'.

Except it wasn't true. They didn't really know any more than we did. Covid was an unknown to everyone. Only as time passed and our understanding of covid grew did the picture become clear. Covid, as with almost all other illnesses, disproportinately impacted the eldery, frail and infirm. But it was too late. There was no way for the government to roll back the fear even if they wanted to. It had become a self perpetuating monster, driven by media companies and their desire for ever more clicks. A type of mass psychosis had developed, people wanted to be restricted. They wanted restrictions because it freed them from having to think, took away the personal responsibility, gave them someone to blame when things went wrong.

Fast forward to now. The spell has begun to break. People have had time to assess the risk. They've become used to covid. Most know someone who's had it. Many have had it themselves. The communal knowledge has built up and the fog of fear is lifting at last.

This is going to be a very uncomfortable period for our leaders. When people start to evaluate what's gone on, what they've lost, what they've missed they are going to start to ask why. They will start to look at the data without the fog of fear clouding their vison and they will most likely not like what they see.

I can't say I'm surprised the primary culprits are trying to get ahead of the tide....
