Formed a Government, Kind of did a coalition, kind of didn't. Presented the Queen with the youngest PM since Pitt the Younger, some 200 years ago.

Whether or not you voted for the new government, i gladly hoist a pint in your honor (though it's a skimpy American pint) and wish the UK and all of the Queen's Subjects very well.

I think we are in what the Chinese curse refers to as "interesting times". It puts me in mind of that old joke about Heaven and Hell:

    "Heaven is a place where
The police are British, the Americans run the IT companies, the Germans run the engineering, the Australians make the wine, the French are the chefs and the Italians are the lovers.

Hell is a place the Police are German, the IT companies are run by the French, the Italians run the engineering, the British make the wine, the Australians are the chefs and the Americans are the lovers"

Well, UK Political Hell is the Lib Dems running capitalism and the Tories running the Social programs :)

I remain cautiously optimistic that they will get things the right way round..........................

I think being a Lib-Dem now means you are willing to get into bed with anybody . . . it's just a question of sorting out the price.

Perhaps the Lib Dems should be strictly-controlled. After all, they'll jump into bed with anyone. Perhaps being ruthlessly teased since the last time they formed a government has caused this kind of purile desperation. :)

Well, the Tories have already tackled the deficit with a multitude of retarded ideas. One being the halving of university places.

The Tories haven't a clue what "social policy" is. Problem is, there's only a certain amount of leverage LDs have in the coalition, and now, they are realising it's not quite as equal as it seemed. Imagine the meetings where coalition policies are formed/discussed. When it comes to voting on it, there are 307 (I Think) Tory MPs and 57 LDs. We get outvoted by 250 everytime!

As an avid Lib Dem, I was gutted about this. I genuinely think if we were going to do a coalition with anyone, though the voting thing would be similar, we'd have been best off with Labour because at least our policies would've been similar!

    Rant over!

(As you can tell from my username, I'm heavily into politics, and I support the LibDems as IMO, they're the furthest left party out of our "big 3").
