Your correct! Many are latex but thankfully they do make some very nice non latex ones. Google Non Latex Condoms and you will get a number of them. Some are Lambskin which is not as good for preventing STDs but the Durex Avanti (and bare) are great. The Female Condom is also non Latex. Trojan and others are starting to provide non latex types that are just as safe and not made of latex. *They feel good & don't have that smell or latex taste.

Durex has a new one called the Durex Avanti bare its made out of polyisoprene and is supposed to be even better.

Speaking from my experience you can certainly learn how to be better at making love (Fucking).
