Cobra Fitting Question

I’ve really enjoyed the cobra cage for quite some time. The more narrow base ring has helped me quite a bit from my start with the holy trainer. I originally bought the snug and then immediately realized that was too big (wishful thinking I suppose). I moved down to the tight and that has worked well for some time.

Lately I’ve noticed about a CM of space in the cage and I’ve wondered if I should size down again to the micro/nub size. Should I make the switch anyone have any experience with sizing down like that? Is there a better smaller cage I should look at?
