Really what the title says. I’m aware that what I’m about to suggest in my questioning is based in the realm of fiction. I met someone, online and in real life that is really into male chastity. We had talks about her being my key holder, but the trouble there lays within the fact that she lives in another part of the world, and the reality of wearing 24/7 in a long distance dynamic while also considering hygiene… is something that is best left to the erotica authors.

but say that you tried to commit to 24/7 chastity. Never taking the device off. Is it possible to maintain a basic level of hygiene around the cage?

    Short Answer: No not really.

Long Answer: Even with metal cages, it is recommended to do a weekly cleaning if you are concerned about cleanliness atleast even a bit.

is that really so? I wear a glans armour 2, which is a very simple design allowing full access to skin. The pa part is also accessible by pushing the penis to expose first one end, then the other. Using normal cleaning in shower plus disinfectant soak I’m confident everything stays hygienic. Obviously peeing helps too. Or am I missing something?

Before I commenced 24/7 permanent wear I spent months removing for occasional checks and was reassured by the fact it was always completely clean. I’m sure it helps to have a very wide gauge piercing, which was stretched years before I was put in chastity.

I spoke to a doc about this actually. He said its best to do a remove occasionally for a full cleanup else gunk/bacteria/fungi can get built up in the hard to see/reach areas.

Yes I can see that, it’s just that it was an absolute requirement that ours be a “lock up forever” deal, so I’m just very careful to be thorough. A strong, hot shower jet at close range is crucial…!

For me if your uncut you need to remove your device so you can get your foreskin right back to clean properly. Some will say you can, but I Carnt.

definitely! Any inaccessible area is going to become infected pretty quickly.

Doctors tend to tell you to do what everyone else does because it's easier to defend their advice.

A metal open cage, like a Jail Bird, is quite easy to keep every clean without removal.

Well yes, if there’s no PA involved then absolutely no reason ever to worry!

It depends on your device and if you are cut or not. I'm cut and have an open titanium BAW cage so cleaning up is a breeze. I can go indefinitely without needing to remove for cleaning and everything is as clean as it can be (those few hairs that are stuck between the frank and beans is another story though). If your cage is plastic or if you are uncut then you need more regular unlocking for cleaning.

I'm in pretty much a Contender with a PA 24/7 and cleaning is pretty easy. Lots of soap, handheld shower head, and a quick shot of antiseptic spray on the PA pin.

I have a Jailbird and can clean it, and myself, quite easily. Lots of soap, a handheld shower head and a couple times a week I use a cotton swab to really get the interior of the cage and around the base of the tube that’s closest to my skin. I’ve gone multiple weeks continuously locked (I’m at 5 weeks right now and have at least 10 more to go) and haven’t had an issue with keeping things clean and healthy. I’m circumcised and do not have a PA piercing though.

I disagree on the Jail Bird. There are areas that are not welded where the smaller bars pass through the larger bars. One side will be welded, but the other side is not. Those areas are susceptible to trapping urine and other things.

Here another owner of a BAW
Cage.. the BA-28 in titanium. Nice and open structure and to concur with @NowIveDoneIt - a breeze to clean deep. Just use some shower gel, fingertips and a shower head

My BAW is pretty open design and I can use my shower head to access basically everywhere in the cage.
My only problem is uncircumcised foreskin. There will still be dirt trapped between and under folded foreskin. I don’t know whether those who are circumcised would have the same issue. If not, 24/7/365 shouldn’t be a big deal.

    Actually I am uncircumcised!
with my BAW 28, the spacing between the bars is just enough to slip my fingertips through and under the shower I can actually wiggle-back the foreskin for a good clean and push it back…
It did take some practice but works for me like a charm!

Mine is a bit too small for that :D I asked for a tight fit, so tight that it has no room to grow at all, and the foreskin is sort of trapped between the cage and the penis.

    That is a pity!

    lucky me then I guess..,

I went for a cage with a bit of room in the girth and just about flaccid length.

I am a grower so need to be fully soft to be able to do it but as long as I keep my thoughts off anything exciting while cleaning, I manage.

Mine is an open cage, but it's significantly smaller than my girth and length, so much so that skin pushes out of the bars at my softest. When I take it off, I have the waffle effect for quite a while. There is no possible way I can clean all the folds when wearing such a small cage. I have tried everything, jets, tooth brushes, qtips and none are effective enough. I take it off for showers and put it back on minutes later before the waffling even goes away. For me, cleanliness if much more important than some irrational need to ever remove it.

@Chastiboy I find body wash / liquid soap work well to get throughout the cage and on the penis. Be sure to trim and smooth your nails so you can use your fingers to get the soap everywhere in the cage.

Yeah, I don't really have any issue cleaning mine while locked. It's part of the deal. It doesn't NEED to come off.

Some of my requirements for the cage were to be metal and have ventilation slots big enough for water to flow through freely. Kind of important to have the urine flow out the tip freely too. If it's not completely draining, then it's going to get stinky real fast.

If you looked in my shower, you'd see a super large fast food cup sitting upside down on the shampoo bottle. The drink cup can be filled with warm soapy water and the entire cage dunked in the cup like a mini hot tub. It can be kept very clean that way.

At least in my case, very clean is good enough. It doesn't need to be "hospital clean". It's not like anybody is going to be down there sniffing around anyway. The cage and its contents are meant to be ignored.

I am locked in a Jailbird with an added PA ring. Able to fully clean without removing. (My icon shows the openness and the PA ring.)

I wore a Jail Bird for 7 months without any removal, for cleaning or anything else. It was fine (picture of what it looked like after is in my photos). I'm uncut, but keep the foreskin pulled back in the cage. The JB was a little shorter than my flaccid length. Since then I have downsized (currently in 1 1/4" cage) which requires removal for cleaning about monthly as it's harder to reach some parts. Just my experience, everyone is different.
