    If you're familiar with my CARGO'verse - link to series bible - how do you think the HrLckr app should throttle chat and date requests to stop chastes being overwhelmed or getting cocky? Should it ration the more desirable chastes to the more or less experienced users? What do you think?

    I am locked as I ponder this. So hopefully in the right mindset.

    A higher ranked chaste should have benefits. Whether that is more choice on who they want to serve or financial stability etc. A woman can sense a cocky chaste (haha) and will give poor ratings.

    I don’t think a mean bitch or unhappy woman should be able to deep six a chaste on her own. That’s a little too close to slavery and being held hostage or blackmail.

    Separate thought completely- Maybe by 2030 the app will have AI tied to the device that uses receptors in the groin to see what tease denial and servitude combinations keep them the most hungry for more. And throttles their demand or modifies match options to keep them on the edge but unable to get release. Chastes who perform best and get 5 stars get the best AI attention. So then they stay on the edge constantly with less and less effort to get their perfectly defined fix.

    Here is a blurb…

    Whe I read "Mistress's bare feet softly slapped the laminate floor" I can't help but think of some kind of mermaid creature with size 25 flippers scholopping against the laminate floor as her whale-bearing hips swayed like a drunken sailor from side to side.

    I wonder, would she have made the same sound had it been a floor made of stone, solid oak, or cheap tiles from the local tiles r us hastily slapped on my Miguel as he tried to evade hios parole officer who had heard he was dealing drugs again?

    What an intriguing question! You had me wandering around our house barefoot, trying surfaces - except the concrete in the garage. Way too cold.

    It turns out laminate floors resonate as you plant your foot, but don't develop much suction as you lift it. So "slap" was right.

    Tiled surfaces with plenty of texture - preventing suction on the lift - don't have much resonance because they are laid on a sold surface. They yield more of a soft "put" sound. I assume this would be the same for concrete.

    Polished surfaces - big tiles, variations on old-fashioned linoleum - do develop a little suction as the foot lifts, so you get a kind to "smack-kiss" sound.

    So to the specifics of your question:

    A stone floor would probably be a soft "put" like for textured tiles.

    A solid oak floor, if rough or textured, would probably sound the same as the stone floor (for bare feet - sound would be different if wearing shoes), but if polished and smooth then "click-kiss" like lino.

    Cheap Tiles... I assume you mean square ones about 4 inches across? If the joints were very sunken, as per concrete. Otherwise maybe like the solid oak. Not sure.

    (I of course referenced the floor to remind the reader that the action was taking place in an expensive, civilised modern flat... which relates to the novel's themes.)

    Got sidetracked into writing about how dynamics internalise and become real!

    I will however return to Shona next week, or maybe the week after and then gradually bring the story to a conclusion.
