Beautiful keys for Key Holders?

I've wondered about doing that. I wondered if silver was a strong enough metal to use as a key.

 

it should for a traditional lock.
i on the other hand have a security screw on my cage so i would have a jeweler design a holder for that security screw so my wife can have it with her at all times

I once had a key recut onto a longer length... body?.. then I took it to a manufacturing jeweller I knew and he made a very good job of putting some inexpensive gems on it and making it look pretty whilst still bing a key to my cage. Did not cost a lot though may have cost someone else quite a bit more. My now ex was well taken with it.

After about a month of trying to find the right chain, a place to get the key, place to cut the keys, a jump chain for the key, etc...I finally have this to present to my KH tonight. It was literally about twenty visits to different stores and locksmiths. I’m exhausted!

 

Glad to see you got it sorted out! Finding a locksmith with a slot cutting machine these days is tricky, but it turned out beautiful. I like the bail choice you made! If you want to "bling it up" a bit, the "hole" in the ball of the heart portion would accept a small colored stone glue in (nothing precious...) at least that was my intention. This would let someone personalize it further if they wished.

Lady Kat likes images of old skeleton keys, so there is a wooden plaque with "HOME" and 4x skeleton keys on it, front and center in our living room.
Last weekend i purchased a key for her from the late 1700's at the local flea market, a small inexpensive but thoughful gesture for my Lady
